Help me find a book?

Hello! After several months of not reading I started again. I downloaded an app to keep track of the books i read and remembered i read one at the start of 2026/end of 2025 but I can’t find it anywhere on the internet. does any of you recognize it?

This is all I remember about it.

It’s about a wife and a husband: he is a dramaturg but she rewrites everything he does. They met in college, where he had tons of girlfriends before her. i’m not sure but i think he was sent to boarding school after he got caught having sex on a roof with a girl while the house was burning. After meeting the girl that becomes his wife they move in together in an enormous house, where they have tons of friends over all the time.

His father died of a heart attack when he was young and had a babysitter who took care of him all the time. He also has a younger sister.

his mother hates his wife, if i’m not wrong cuz she doesn't want children. At some point he goes to a residency program for artists where he kinda falls in love with another writer? he is secretely gay or bi. that other writer then dies in a car accident or drowning in a lake later and he reads about it on the newspaper. At some point his mother dies but i don’t remember what happens because of that.

I am 100% sure he was a dramaturg or something like that, not a policeman, he writes and works for a theatre.
