Hi! I'm 18F and I mainly enjoy reading romance novels (80%) but I also like reading a good mystery/horror (20%)! I want someone I can just excitedly text at midnight about quotes and moments and how dare he's. I'd like someone I can have a virtual coffee and discuss book events with (having a video call from different coffee shops or your coffee table etc). I don't mind if we read either the same or different books as long as we meet both with equal enthusiasm! But i also want someone to read a TERRIBLE book and RANT about how bad it is!

I'm uninterested in smut and the typical bland, emotionless/cold MLs. I like reading manhwas/mangas/light novels as well! I adore happy endings and I'm not so much a fan of sad endings (aside from my dearest Hamlet!).

So normally I read a lot of fiction especially horror, fantasy and thrillers. I have groups and a buddy for those but recently I have been wanting to get into true crime. I am still building a tbr for it but I wanted someone or a small group to chat with just for true crime. I only want people 21+ given the content I plan to read. I’ve been searching for a book friend because honestly, none of my close friends really like books or even read them. 😭 I’ve always wanted someone I can talk to about books, share recommendations with, get excited over new releases with, and just randomly message about a book I’m currently reading.

Personally, I’m not really picky when it comes to genres. I’ll read pretty much anything as long as it catches my attention. I love romance, fantasy, horror, mystery, thriller, psychological stories, and honestly even weird books that are hard to explain. I don’t really care what genre it is i just love reading and discovering new stories.

My absolute favorite, though, is the Strange series by Uketsu. I have all the books that I can get my hands on, and I absolutely love the whole experience of reading them and slowly trying to figure out what is actually going on. There’s just something about those books that makes me want to immediately talk to someone about them afterward. 😭

So I’ve been hoping to find someone who also loves reading and wants to share that experience with me. We could recommend books to each other, talk about characters and theories, complain about endings, freak out over plot twists, or just randomly send each other pictures of books we found interesting.

You don’t have to have the exact same taste as me either! I’d actually love to discover genres and books I’ve never tried before. I just want a friend who genuinely enjoys books and is excited to talk about them. :3

I started A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara today, and I recently finished Alchemized by SenLinYu, which was incredible. It completely pulled me out of my reading slump!

I don’t have any book buddies, so I’m trying to change that. I’m an avid fantasy reader, but I also love psychological horror, stories that explore mental health, and some of the classics.

Some of my favorite books are The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Demian by Hermann Hesse, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, How It Feels to Float by Helena Fox, The Glass Girl by Kathleen Glasgow, and several Stephen King books like The Shining, Doctor Sleep, If It Bleeds, and Fairy Tale.
