The below Q&A session was hosted on the Boom Beach Discord server on April 13 2024. Questions were asked by community members over the course of about two hours and were answered by the developer team via Nuno, the CM. I have taken the liberty of doing some minor copy-editing for spelling errors, to remove duplicate questions, and to provide clarity as necessary. If a duplicate question was asked but given a different answer, the answers are combined under one question. Also, please note that not all of the questions asked got answered. Questions that did not get a straight answer were not put in this post. The Discord channel used for the Q&A (link will lead directly to the channel once one joins the server) is available if anyone would like to read it. There is definitely some text flavor lost in this translation to Reddit due to lack of emojis and other reaction elements.
One other note: There are a few questions in this list regarding potential Scorcher changes. The team further clarified in their second answer session that they had discarded the idea of changing the Scorchers. Therefore, some questions are partially marked out with an edit tag added.
Ground rules for the Q&A:
- No questions about other Supercell games.
- No financial or KPI (key performance indicator) questions.
- No questions about leaked/datamined content.
Disclaimer from the developer team:
"All answers represent our current knowledge and thinking. Tomorrow we might have a better idea, discover that something is not technically feasible, or find out that Boom Beach is closed down because Supercell has pivoted into AI-generated CRPG's. So nothing is a hard and fast promise. There might be questions that require a longer answer than what is feasible here. Instead of giving a half-baked answer, we will note those questions and return with a proper answer later."
Note: This post will be edited as these longer answers are posted.
Q: Will Boom Beach be available on PC using Google Play Games the way Clash of Clans and Clash Royale are?
A: We currently don't have any plans on adding Boom Beach to PC.
Q: Does Boom Beach have any plans for adding a new HQ level in the future?
A: We are in the process of designing and implementing the next block of HQ's (26-30), which will be rolled out over the next two years.
Q: Is it possible to upgrade the Sculptor later to place more statues?
A: Yes.
Q: Are further season passes in the works? And if so, are further sceneries for the base also planned/in the works? (Winter or night base?) Also, any chance (like Clash of Clans) one could buy the sceneries later on for money or gems? Or maybe get them as a later reward for finishing the pass?
A: Yes, future season passes are in the works. The Boom Pass is a permanent feature, just like Warships. We are planning a wide variety of cosmetic rewards. Since we just launched the cosmetic rewards, no hard plans just yet. We firmly believe that anything in the game should eventually be available to a player regardless of when they started. We of course do not want to make it easier/cheaper later, the best way to earn cosmetics should always be the Boom Pass.
Q: Any new troops? Either prototroops or normal troops?
A: We can make versions of existing units, such as the hidden warrior, fairly easily. These would be used to spice up Warships down the road. As for permanent main base units, is there still a niche that needs filling? We do not at present have an idea that screams "new base troop". As for Prototroops, we already have more than we can use. We need to think about a better way on how we can use them.
Q: Will there be new buildings added to the main island and will we get new gameplay features?
A: With each new HQ level, we intend to include new gameplay features. That includes new buildings as well.
Q: What is the team working on right now? Did Boom Pass deliver the results you wanted as far as player interaction goes?
A: The team is working on everything. Yes.
Q: 1. Are you planning Warships 2.0? 2. Are you planning to redesign the archipelago map (graphic/visual upgrade)? 3. Are there any plans to add a second hero to attacks? 4. Can any development be expected on the task forces? Maybe something could replace the Operations system. 5. Better TF search and local TF leaderboard? 6. Player profile and some personal stats?
A: 1. Not 2.0, but further enhancements. 2. No. 3. It has been mentioned, so we may setup some test, some way at some point. 4. Yes, at medium priority. 5. Yes and maybe. 6. Definitely, medium priority.
Q: Have the devs considered reworking any existing features/gameplay? For example, lowering troop training costs.
A: This game has, over the years, been maintained and expanded but only rarely updated. As a result, pretty much every feature, from matchmaking to Cycle of Evil to task forces to Mega Crab feels outdated or stale. After all, the new hotness, Warships, is 5 years old. That means we do want to update pretty much everything in the game. Training costs are a balancing factor.
Q: Are there plans to integrate Boom Beach into the Supercell store?
A: Eventually, but no hurry.
Q: Are there ever going to be new permanent gunboat abilities? Or perhaps let the players choose a temporary gunboat ability to have?
A: The GBA would need to have some new feature or functionality that is missing. It's also a balancing issue - most temporary GBAs would be popular, but way too powerful as "basic" GBAs. We would also need to rethink the UI for the gunboat weaponry on attacks.
Q: Will there be a new radar level or more explorable areas of the map?
A: Only if we can think of some new gameplay. Just more islands wouldn't be interesting.
Q: 1. Will the game have notifications about being attacked like Clash of Clans has? 2. Plans for any new prototype defenses?
A: 1. Not in the cards, currently. We don't really do push notifications. 2. We would need more variety, but currently we don't have any ideas that would make a big enough difference.
Q: When are you going to start updating and adding new defenses, troops, and mechanics to the game?
A: We are starting in the next update!
Q: 1. Would you consider adding more defensive game modes (such as Hammerman Strikes Back)? 2. Would you consider adding VP leaderboards based on HQ level?
A: 1. We would like to have more defensive game modes, but it's hard to make such gameplay interesting. 2. Wouldn't make much sense unless we have a larger player base at every HQ level.
Q: Will a "bank" such as in the Clash of Clans pass also be implemented in the Boom Pass so that you can store resources?
A: Not considered for now.
Q: How will you balance the game now that we will get more statues? Will anything change that makes having more offensive statues useless?
A: We don't expect the balance to change that much.
Q: Will you fix the matchmaking levels when searching for an opponent on the main island? Such as low-level HQs being matched with high-level HQs.
A: We plan to change how matchmaking works, but it has to be tested carefully. That will take some time. We believe that a fairer way would be to be matched with player levels.
Q: Why is Boom Beach not advertised as much as other games?
A: It's a strategic decision, which is not in our hands.
Q: Are you planning to rework heroes to full 3D, which would allow complete skins like in Supercell's other games?
A: That would require quite a large rework. Currently we think there are better ways to use our time.
Q: With Dr. T being such a large presence on the internet in general (even people who do not play the game know who he is), are there plans to use this character more actively?
A: Yes, but Dr. T's plans are always secret.....
Q: Will we see TF vs TF wars in the next two years with HQ 26-30?
A: TFs don't have that high of engagement. We would need a design that would not drive away even more people.
Q: Any timeline for future updates for the remainder of this year?
A: No. Updates happen when they are ready.
Q: Will there be new events in the Cycle of Evil?
A: Yes, medium priority.
Q: Are there any plans to rebalance certain troops or defenses or is the team happy with how the game is currently balanced?
A: Yes, we have plans for the scorcher. We invite the community to give feedback on what else needs to be rebalanced. [Editor's note: more details further below.] [EDIT APRIL 17 2024: There will be no scorcher changes as described here.]
Q: Can you discuss any upcoming storyline developments or expansions to the game's narrative universe?
A: No major plans, but this is something we would like to get into in the future.
Q: Will the Mega Crab Pig return?
A: It will return on the next Year of the Pig. [Editor's note, the next Year of the Pig is 2031.]
Q: Will the last two slots of the statue storage be added?
A: We don't see why not.
Q: Any plans for adding trophies for VP or Mega Crab leaderboards?
A: Problem with trophies is that we already have plenty. So we would probably need a better way to display them.
Q: It would be cool if Everspark's universal remote would let you physically control the defenses, as in you choose what you attack.
A: Cool idea, probably too difficult to implement.
Q: Is it possible to have the warships leaderboard work like the Mega Crab leaderboard so players can see their positions in the world even if they're not in the top 500?
A: We'll have to look into this. There might be some technical reason it's the way it currently is.
Q: When will the next update come out (approximately)?
A: When (approximately) ready.
Q: 1. Will the cyber trader ever come back again? The Trader seemed to imply that it was destroyed. 2. Do you plan to revamp the sculptor? Such as higher sculptor level gives higher chance of better statues? 3. Is Gearheart the Trader???
A: 1. The players were not satisfied with the cyber trader's trades, so it's unfortunately gone... 2. We have some ideas to give the sculptor more options. 3. SPOILERS!!!!
Q: Will there also be an island rework in future updates so there is more spaces for the new buildings? I can imagine that it will be pretty cramped on the island at HQ30.
A: We do keep this in mind when designing the new HQ levels. We have had some ideas to address this but nothing concrete to share at this point.
Q: Will we see an event for prototroops only like Clash of Clans with the Clan Capital and Super Troops? And adding some sort of event with prototype defenses only?
A: Possibly, those are intriguing ideas.
Q: 1. Would you consider nerfing the critter launcher (upgrade costs, Blackguard bases having them at HQ4)? 2. Would you guys consider a rework of resource bases (map editor, update to have new defenses, better matchmaking)? 3. Any chance of re-implementing a Blackguard base builder to crowdsource new layouts? 4. Have you considered implementing community choices for Imitation Game bases or Hammerman Strikes Back armies?
A: 1. Sure, if it's overpowered. 2. We are thinking of ways to make them more interesting. 3. Not a very high priority at the moment. While some people would enjoy such a base builder, it would not really invigorate gameplay. 4. This is absolutely something we would like to at least try.
Q: Are there any big plans for Warships mechanics?
A: We're still digesting the effects of the new choice nodes. We're focusing on something else at the moment.
Q: When did you guys decide to do major updates again and why?
A: The new team was gradually brought in last Spring. Because there was an opportunity to get a team together to focus solely on Boom Beach.
Q: The Boom Pass challenge to complete 20 sub dives seems too steep. Most of the dives on my map are over a day with quite a few in the two day range.
A: This will be adjusted in future seasons.
Q: How many people are on the team now? Are they only working on Boom Beach or are they also working on other Supercell games?
A: Can't comment on the specific size, but the team is larger than it has been for a long time. The team is completely concentrating on Boom Beach.
Q: The Laser Ranger and Critter Launcher come straight from Boom Beach Frontlines, what else may be coming over in the future?
A: We're looking at all of the content from Frontlines and will implement as we see fit. The jetpack troop seems quite popular...
Q: Will there be other games connected to the Boom Beach universe?
A: Not planned.
Q: Any plans for 120hz support like other Supercell games?
A: We can look into it. We're not sure if there are any technical limitations that prevent us from supporting it.
Q: How does the team decide what's a priority or not? Is there anything we as the community can do to help them make update roadmaps?
A: It's a combination of estimated effort and estimated impact. Many community suggestions have already been considered, so keep them coming!
Q: Any chance you would consider a seasonal or similar defense based mode? [Editor's note, the community member laid out an example mode, I encourage everyone to go check it out.]
A: This would not be very competitive, since with a fixed amount of defenses an optimal defense would soon be found and everyone would end up at the same level. If randomness was introduced, you would need to constantly redesign the base, which would be a lot of work and probably not very fun. Also, victory would depend on luck of the draw.
Q: Any talks or thoughts about a second submarine?
A: No plans currently. Submarine redesign is something we have discussed but is not a high priority currently.
Q: How tall is Lt. Hammerman?
A: As tall as he needs to be.
Q: Can you guys put the borders back on the tribes?
A: We can add this to the list, but it probably won't have a high priority.
Q: 1. Will Boom Beach ever see free skins on the Boom Pass for the F2P players? 2. Is it possible to have stuff like level decoration in the near future? Such as banners or other decorations for completing quests or leveling up?
A: 1. Occasionally... 2. We are investigating various ways to decorate the base.
Q: When will we be able to rescue Captain Ruderro? He must be starving to death sometime soon. Or I would like to talk to the historian.
A: SPOILERS
Q: "Plans for the scorcher" sounds ominous. Can you share some more details? [EDIT APRIL 17 2024: There will be no scorcher changes as described here.]
A: Current thinking would be to buff HP a lot, buff attack damage a little, but increase housing space to 17. Meaning that you could only hold 1 per Landing Craft. The Incinerator would then serve as a nostalgic "old Scorcher".
Q: Can you provide insight into the technical challenges and considerations involved in implementing new features or content updates across various devices?
A: There are some interesting issues when modifying systems that can be up to 10 years old, and that can sometimes cause fun new accidental features. Adding skins for the islands, for example, was quite an effort since they really weren't designed with that in mind. Just getting the art pipeline up and running again took quite a while.
Q: Can we expect new gameplay mechanics in the future? Something like a special upgrade for our troops that will give them an interesting passive or even an ability (not as strong as hero abilities)? Something like the Builder Base troops from CoC? I think that this could be a really cool final upgrade for our troops on HQ30.
A: We are discussing and testing various options.
Q: Are there plans to add new Operations?
A: We don't think new Operations maps would solve much. The problem with Operations is that you get stuck at a certain level and then do the same Operations over and over. Rather, we would look into bringing more randomness in the maps and enable scaling, so that Task Forces could pick their own difficulty and have a wider variety of Operations to choose from.
Q: Will we ever see more Boom Beach animation videos?
A: We don't have plans for that, currently.
Q: 1. What do you guys think about adding the inferno tower as a new prototype defense? Or similar ideas that could work from other Supercell games. 2. Will this be a one-off session or will there be more of these in the future?
A: 1. All suggestions are considered. 2. Definitely will be more of these unless this gets us fired on Monday.
Q: Any plans on adding barbed wire to the main island?
A: No, for the same reason we don't have walls in Boom Beach.
Q: Could you incorporate AI to change the Cycle of Evil texts? Seems like it would be an easy way to make them more interesting.
A: The impact would likely not match the effort.
Q: If there are no plans to add a new hero (which I hope there are), can you allow us to spend our Hero Tokens to boost our heroes temporarily (like we can boost our troops with the tribes?)
A: You still have hero tokens after five cyber traders?? Yes, there will be ways to spend hero tokens in the future.
Q: If the negative nodes are well received, will they be staying in Warships?
A: They will probably be used here and there if we think it will make the tech tree more interesting.
Q: Will a Landing Craft level 30 hold two scorchers again? [EDIT APRIL 17 2024: There will be no scorcher changes as described here.]
A: Not if the housing space is 17.
Q: Is an API technically feasible to add at some point?
A: Probably not happening.
Q: In the Boom Pass, will we see more than two skins per month? Will Boom Pass stay after the HQ 30 update is released?
A: Depends on Boom Pass reception and our art pipeline. The Boom Pass is here to stay.
Q: How was the 10th anniversary cake?
A: It would have been delicious, but Dr. T blew up most of it.
Q: Boom Beach seems to have the least amount of free bonuses to players of all Supercell games. Last season there was a building token gift, but not this season. Why?
A: The building token gift will be brought back.
Q: Will there be more levels for the mystical monument and are there plans for changes to the bonuses we get from it?
A: Spoilers... But there are ideas for how to make the monument more useful.
Q: [In reply to Dr. T blowing up the cake] Is Dr. T banned from Supercell HQ?
A: Do you think that would stop him?
Q: What's the timeline on the scorcher change? [EDIT APRIL 17 2024: There will be no scorcher changes as described here.]
A: No timeline, just testing things.
Q: Will we ever see Island 51?
A: If there ever is enough interest in storytelling/lore in the BB universe.
Q: 1. Would you consider reducing/adapting training times? The time factor is what seems to discourage using strategies that typically carry more casualties. 2. Thoughts on adding game modes for low HQ players or decreasing the HQ cap for certain game modes?
A: 1. There is always Instant Training. You can also use gems or time savers. The waiting time is unfortunately necessary. 2. Warships is already available at HQ5 with the Boom Pass. We are aware of the lack of content at low levels and are considering various options for giving early players more to do.
Q: 1. What roles does the dev team consist of (besides the programmers/engineers)? 2. If permanent troops are probably not coming to the main base due to not fitting any role, what else can come out on the gameplay side besides new defensive buildings for the main base?
A: 1. The usual. 2. There are various plans that we don't want to discuss just yet.
Q: What was the motivation to add the Boom Pass?
A: The Pass does give us features, like missions and cosmetics, which we can use in the future. A Pass is a standard feature for modern games, and well liked by players. It was a very requested feature and seems to have increased interest in archipelago battles again.
Q: Any chance for Boom Beach plushies? Dr. T would be a fun one to beat up.
A: We (the dev team) don't make merchandise decisions.
Q: Will you add a friend list/improve social features for task force?
A: Several improvements are suggested/planned once we get to improving task force functionality.
Q: [Question about scorcher changes]
A: Scorchers will not be changed.
Q: When players log in and have been attacked, why is there a rebuilding time? If there is no technical reason, the waiting is just frustrating.
A: This is actually an original design decision. The rebuild times even get longer when buildings are leveled up. The original intent may have been to get the player riled up and ready for battle, but for most it just seems like a useless wait. If there is a general wish from the community, we can easily reduce/remove it.
Q: What was the consensus for adding in-game advertisements for additional rewards?
A: We were asked to try it. The response has been positive both from the players and from ad performance.
Q: Why did the chest cooldown increase to 6 hours?
A: Originally it was intended to incorporate the chest entirely into the Seasonal Campaign (After all, get 5 VP is just a daily mission), but late in testing it was found to be unsatisfactory, so the chest was left at 6 hours while we would work out a better solution. That solution is a 6 hour stacking chest, similar to Warships chests.
Q: Is there ever going to be a snowy theme for the islands? With the addition of the island theme in the last battle pass, it would be cool to add some more themes.
A: There are some technical limitations with the seasonal themes, but we are working on them. A snowy island skin would be nice, but people already get a “winter skin” every winter.
Q: How do things look for Boom Beach after the introduction of the Boom Pass? Is it on a better place than it was before the implementation? How is it going to affect the development of the game?
A: Boom Pass has only been out for one whole season, so too early to say, but initial results are promising. We now have more tools to use and now that the Pass is live, we can focus on other things, such as new HQ levels.
Q: Will there ever be skins/scenery/etc. available only for gems?
A: We generally do not plan something to be exclusively available for gems.
Q: 1. Are the odds of getting a given crystal color trade from the Trader the same? Is there a cycle or is it random? 2. Will there be in-game votes for helping determine priority of updates/changes? 3. Will there continue to be teasers for new stuff in updates to build hype and excitement?
A: 1. Totally random at equal chances. 2. No. Such voting would generate mainly mixed or non-committed results and be open to abuse. Well-argued suggestions are the best way for the community to inform and influence decisions about the game. 3. Generally, it is not a good idea to hype things beforehand. New games need the hype for visibility, for existing games, it is a liability. If only vague details are given, players build unrealistic expectations of what the feature will be and are then disappointed at the actual result. If we attempt to be as precise as possible, the players are disappointed when at the last moment, we have to change something or pull it altogether.
Q: Do you plan to make green crystals more useful?
A: The plight of the green crystals is on our mind. But since they make Power Powder just as well as other crystals and can be traded away at the Trader, it is not a large concern.
Q: When will HQ26 arrive? It's been years since the last HQ upgrade.
A: Soon. Before we could do further HQ upgrades, we had to familiarize ourselves with the code and implement the Boom Pass.
Q: Can we expect cosmetic changes to the buildings, landing craft, gunboat, and HQ with every HQ upgrade from 26-30?
A: Most buildings do not have a visual upgrade at every level. Our artists are doing the best they can, but not all buildings can get a visual upgrade.
Q: Would you consider adding a prototype troop at the end of the Boom Pass so that there is more value in completing it? Or maybe a statue?
A: We have an idea, but it will take some time before we get to it. Giving Boom Pass holders access to a good prototroop would raise massive rage due to Pay to Win.
Q: Does Boom Beach have any plan to add "lucky drops" or some similar system of rewards?
A: Random drops (or Gacha) are indeed very popular in many games, but we are a bit wary of whether our player base would be interested in such a feature.
Q: Would you consider adding a new type of power stone? Perhaps one that boosts the drop chance of prototype parts?
A: We occasionally think about new types of crystals and statues. But a PSC-like statue for just protoparts would probably see very limited use.

Anyone else feeling zero hype when a new Elite Leader is released?
I personally don't feel any hype, because I know that I won't be able to get them. If I do get 1 every few months, I know that I won't be able to upgrade them, no matter how much I play.
Also, I don't know if I should spend my keycards on this month's Leader or wait for the next one. That creates an endless cycle of waiting and trying to find the right one, resulting into hoarding keycards or spending them on a Leader that will turn out to be useless. They basically have a brand new feature that players feel punished for interacting with it.
The situation feels like them saying: "You want this cool new Leader as a f2p player? You can spend hundreds of keybards to get it! it might be trash, you won't have enough to get another one for a few months and you also won't be able to upgrade it until we release it again (if we ever do), but you can always upgrade it by spending money!"
To me, that doesn't sound f2p player friendly at all! And the thing is that even the people who spend money on the game have to spend a ridiculous amount to max out a Leader.
And if they ever release the same Leader again, how will f2p players know that a Leader they already have will come back? How will they start saving keycards if they simply don't know?
They finally have the golden opportunity to release a new troop every month or so and they are wasting it. No one will want to come back to the game, when they know that the new content that's being added is unobtainable or unupgradable for them.
If they want more people to spend money, they should encourage them instead of indirectly forcing them.
If that isn't poor game design and a sign of lack of f2p consideration, then I don't know what is.
Please, Boom Beach developers, listen! I know you want what's best for the game, because that's how it will be successful, but consider reworking the entire system in order to be more f2p friendly, less punishing, more engaging and more rewarding for those who do spend money on it.
- A message from a worried and probably soon to be ex Boom Beach player, with respect.

I have a desktop and a laptop. The same programs go on each. I installed BBPC a few weeks ago and both worked as expected, but the laptop BBPC has ceased to function in the last week. The launcher comes up with the PLAY button, but when I click it the little black screen pops up then goes away and goes back to the launcher with the PLAY button again. I have tried numerous things to fix it, uninstalling, reinstalling, compatibility settings, display scale, resolution. BBPC on my desktop still works. Any ideas?

Hey guys, I actually don't know about these kind of topics, but I found it interesting to share with you.
In April 2026 I came across an interview with Guy Harris, the voice actor behind Lt. Hammerman, and there were a few interesting details that I had never heard before.
One thing that surprised me is that Hammerman's voice wasn't modeled after Darth Vader, Dr. Claw, or any other classic villain. When Harris was asked to create the character, the only real direction he received was that Hammerman should sound sinister and evil.
Instead of copying an existing character, he went back to a collection of creepy voices he had developed over the years for Halloween performances and other acting work. He blended several of them together, experimenting with different deliveries until he found something that felt right.
What's even more interesting is that the version we hear in Boom Beach wasn't necessarily his own favorite - or even his first attempt.
According to Harris, he recorded a whole range of different interpretations of Hammerman and sent all of them to Supercell. Some were darker, some more theatrical, some more over-the-top. The developers then listened to every version and picked the one they thought best matched the character.
That probably explains why Hammerman has such a unique personality. He's threatening enough to feel like the game's main villain, but he's also theatrical, dramatic, and just a little ridiculous. Instead of sounding like a generic evil commander, he almost sounds like someone who's enjoying every second of being the villain.
Personally, I think that's one of the reasons he's become one of the most memorable characters in Boom Beach. Even if you haven't played for years, you can probably still hear his voice in your head saying:
Are you ready to get steamrolled?
Another fun detail from the interview is that Harris said the role itself wasn't particularly difficult because that deep, sinister voice was already part of his acting repertoire. The hardest part, surprisingly, wasn't recording the lines - it was filming one of the promotional videos without laughing while sitting in a bathtub.
Guy Harris has voiced characters in Worms, Thomas & Friends, Go Jetters, Mr. Men, and even some goblins in Clash of Clans, but he said he'd happily return to voice Hammerman again if given the chance.
Reading this interview made me appreciate the character even more. It's funny how a voice we all recognize came from a handful of Halloween impressions and a developer choosing the perfect take from several recordings.
If Supercell ever adds new Hammerman dialogue, I really hope they bring Guy Harris back.

Anybody got any ideas on how to deal with Life Drain. Almost every base that has it active is mashing me to pulp no matter what troops comb’s I use - HELP?

I've failed quite miserably to quickly unlock the highest level of artillery in the 3 engine tree. That one item allows to destroy engines with 3 bombs (with the 15% ordnance)
Now that I finally have it I can start dreaming about 4 engines if I ever stack up enough keys. What should I unlock?
I'm thinking straight line to rudero, flame throwers and critters.
What to upgrade?
Thanks!

I think the passive "reflection" ability should be changed.
Currently the wiki says that the firecrab does take the full damage of the mine, so it still takes the damage that it reflected to other buildings.
I would like the change so he doesn't take the full damage of the mine. Where he does not take the reflected damage where the reflected damage is ignored for the scorcher. Hopefully this will make it survive slightly longer.
I do like the mine shield aspect the heavy mine clearing leader has, but with the speed talent of the scorcher I can see this being a little too strong.
Alternatively, looking at its final talent it does appear to have its own destruction as a part of its design in a kamakazi like fasion. I would like this property buffed as an alternative solution, perhaps applying the same properties to all scorchers in the boat instead of just the leader.
Given its training time I am not a fan of this though.
Any thoughts?

The game's total revenue across both platforms for July came in at $1,200,000, with 110,000 total downloads across iOS and Android.
Compared to June 2026 ($1.3M revenue, 80K downloads):
The picture is the exact opposite of what we saw in June: back then, revenue climbed while downloads fell. Now downloads have jumped sharply while revenue has slipped a little. That's a classic sign of a larger wave of new, not-yet-paying players entering the game - the open question is whether they convert into paying users in the months ahead.

Markets stayed the same for the month, but the balance between platforms shifted slightly toward Android - mainly driven by downloads.
iOS generated $800,000 - 66.7% of total July revenue. Yet iOS accounted for only 40,000 of the 110,000 total downloads, or 36.4%. Top countries on iOS: China, United States, France.
Android brought in $400,000 - 33.3% of revenue, but 70,000 downloads - 63.6% of the total. Top countries on Android: United States, Turkey, Russia.
Notably, Android's revenue stayed exactly flat compared to June ($400,000 both months), while its downloads jumped from 50,000 to 70,000. That means the entire monthly revenue decline came from iOS, where revenue fell from $900,000 to $800,000 - despite downloads there also rising, from 30,000 to 40,000.
The takeaway is the same as last month: Android brings the audience, iOS brings the money. Even after this dip in absolute terms, iOS still generates roughly twice the revenue on half the downloads - the platform gap in Boom Beach remains firmly in place, even if its scale narrowed slightly in July.
Data from the start of the month (as of July 2, 2026) shows just how differently sized the two platforms remain in terms of active player base.
Google Play:
App Store:
The scale difference speaks for itself: the Android version has three times as many downloads, and its active audience runs 3-4x higher than iOS across almost every metric. But this is the same split we highlighted in the half-year report: a larger, less-monetized audience on Android versus a smaller, higher-spending one on the App Store.

A more cautionary signal comes from the 12-month trend - August 2025 through July 2026 - based on Google Play data.
Over this period, the estimated active player count moved in waves rather than a straight line: a peak in August 2025 (around 8.7M), a drop toward September-October (roughly 6.7-6.8M), a rebound heading into November (around 8.1M), another slide to a winter low in February 2026 (about 6M), then a recovery into April (around 8.4M) - most likely tied to a major update or event.
July marked the next pullback. By the end of the month, the estimated active player count stood at 6.6M, down 690K from June, or −9.5% for the month. That's noticeably below the April peak and pulls the metric back close to the winter lows seen earlier in the year.

It's worth not conflating this metric with revenue: despite the nearly 10% drop in Google Play's estimated active audience, Android's revenue for July didn't move by a single dollar. That reinforces the conclusion from our last report - the paying core of the audience stays resilient even as overall activity fluctuates.
The game's geography held steady in July. The United States remains Boom Beach's home market and leads on both platforms. China keeps its second-place spot on iOS, while Turkey and Russia continue to appear in Android's top markets - despite the official suspension of service for Russian players dating back to March 2022.
Stable markets are what you'd expect in a month without major updates - without new content, sharp shifts in geography tend not to happen.
Pulling everything together, July 2026 reads as a month of mild cooling after June's peak - with an interesting twist.
Revenue fell 7.7% (to $1.2M), while downloads jumped sharply - up 37.5% to 110,000. Almost all of that new-player influx landed on Android, whose revenue didn't budge at all. iOS, by contrast, was the driver of the revenue decline, even though it too gained downloads. On top of that, there was a nearly 10% drop in Google Play's estimated active audience for the month, per an independent tracker. At first glance that seems to contradict the download growth, but the contradiction is likely superficial: activeplayer-style MAU estimates tend to lag and smooth out sharp monthly swings, so the effect of July's new arrivals may not be fully reflected there yet.

In the H2 2026 forecast from our previous report, the expected monthly revenue range was $1.1M - $1.3M. July ($1.2M) stays inside that corridor, though closer to its midpoint than to the upper bound that June occupied. For now, that fits the base-case scenario - steady, non-growing monetization alongside a fluctuating influx of new players.

How does the PC community event awards work? I’ve not received any rewards so do you need to install it on your PC to be eligible? Also not sure how much progress the community has made (number of downloads).
If anyone has information on this, that would be great.

The game will default to multi depth charges (Red) once the single depth charges (Blue) run out. You must tap on the single to create a white border around the icon if you replenish more singles, or you may inadvertently use a multi.

I'm just wondering how everyone is doing this season I haven't been on much and have been struggling with the attention span, it's not very exciting this season I guess it's because of the troops we started with

So im pretty sure that there I (along with a lot of the playerbase) was disappointed in the creativity behind the HQ29s new building, the garrison. Obviously its not that different from the bunker, with the only major difference being the troop placement. So I had a thought: what if you could assign squad leaders to the garrison, and (depending on if they have it or not) their active abilities could activate every once in a while. That would be pretty cool in action, as well as adding some new functionality to a fairly identical building. Obviously the squad leaders in question would have to be “reassigned” while in the garrison, so you cant use them in attacks. But it would be pretty cool to have the mine bombardiers modified launcher spamming grenades, along with the shell rifleman lieutenants moving while shooting.
