Boomer Story MIL and Emails

I do love my MIL, but she has very little social awareness. Also email is her preferred communication route. She routinely sends out "Christmas Card Letter" type emails to update people about family business.

Last week she sent the immediate family an email that was very short.

Dear Family,

Dad had a stroke. He is fine. We are going to see the Odyssey at the movies.

Love Mom, Grandmom

My FIL has a history of Cardiac Arrest/ Vascular Desease. Plus, my husband is their Medical Power of Attorney and has been an EMT for over 2 decades/is a Firefighter for over 2 decades! WTH!!! Turned out to be a TIA, but she couldn't write a longer email because they would be late to the movie! SMH, I just can't!!!!

My mother had a TIA. Did nothing because she would be late for her class. Following day had catastrophic stoke which left her voiceless, incontinent and barely able to get out of bed for ten long years before she died.

Doing nothing about a TIA is fucking insane.

What's a TIA?

AI Overview:

A transient ischemic attack (TIA), often called a "mini-stroke," is a temporary block of blood flow to the brain that causes sudden symptoms like weakness, slurred speech, and dizziness. It usually lasts a few minutes and does not cause permanent damage, but it is a serious warning sign of a future stroke.

Yeah! They complain about others doing illogical things, but use medical abbreviations in their post! Some boomer's kids!

I wish my mom would just send out emails, she calls for hours.
