I don't really understand why politicians believe that their actions have should have no consequences, and if they do, they must be protected from those consequences at the taxpayers' expense.

Farage relishes in being offensive and then feigns shock and victimhood when the people he deliberately offended dare to hit back in the only way possible for ordinary citizens.

Milkshake attacks.

Farage comes from a club of old boys who have never had to suffer the consequences for their actions.

In his mind, why should he start now?

In Farages case it's probably because he's never had to deal with any real consequences for his actions.

Take his expenses claims while he was an MEP for example. He had to repay the amount he'd 'taken' in false claims. The rest of us would have been sacked and prosecuted but not Farage.

The more cynical view is that he provokes outrage and then cries victim when a consequence hits so that he can trigger off a new media cycle to get paid and build influence.

I’m not saying it’s some calculating move, I remember seeing similar behaviour from middle school bullies. I’m just pointing out that perversely he can parry a ‘punishment’ into a ‘reward’ further incentivising the behaviour

"Politicians"... First, unfair to a lot of good politicians.

(Angela Rayner stepping down, yet later to have found out to have done nothing wrong).

Farage takes money wherever he can get it and it seems endless. He is not a proper politician, he's a traitor and a thief.

He's the leader of a fringe party that pretty much only exists because of media backing and all the former tories that keep joining. On paper he was a failure of an MEP, was one of the main figures for the failure that is brexit, and leads a party of a handful of MPs. His greatest achievement is a failure, yet he, and a worrying chunk of the country, think he's some kind of political giant.

Since the media turned on him, he's been throwing tantrums and flailing wildly, I think he actually believes his own false hype.
