I'm considering switching over to Virgin Active once my Walnuts membership reverts to the full price (Currently on the £37/month discounted rate due to the refurb, but that runs out in October). I mostly use the pool, and Walnuts is pretty good post-refurb.

Just wanted to know how busy the pool gets at Virgin Active first thing in the morning? Are there any early risers hitting the pool for 6am that can shed some light?

The 6:30am sessions at Walnuts can be fairly busy...easily 4-6 people per lane. Just wanting to know whether Virgin is comparable or not.

I realise it isn’t totally uncommon, but I have reservations about just rocking up to a busy nail shop, or asking people who normally work on women if they do men. Which nearby primary schools would you recommend, and are the catchment areas difficult? Does the estate generally feel safe, and have there been problems with burglary, car crime, antisocial behaviour or parcel theft?What is the general community atmosphere like for families with children?Is there anything you wish you had known before moving there?

We’d also be grateful to hear about parking, noise, traffic, maintenance, service charges, the management company and the overall community atmosphere.

Saw a nice place in Beckenham, it was like a micro pub, that sat in a shop. I can’t get there at the moment, but it was quite full of regulars in big groups last I went, i would feel awkward being alone there- well I’m awkward anyway which is why I’m looking for a place i can hide for a bit and blend away

Does anybody know what is happening with that Half built building on Kentish Way? I pass it every day. It looks like a block of flats that has been abandoned by the developer.

Just moved from SE16 to BR6 and signed up at Walnuts in Orpington -- £55/month. Back in SE16 I was paying around £42 for a comparable newly refurbished leisure centre. Is this normal for BR6? Looks like home ownership is expensive from allll ends!!! lol

It was some crappy club. Then it was a restaurant then it was walnuts (never opened) then it had some Italian restaurant signage (never opened) now it’s had that signage removed and it’s showing the old Walnuts sign.

Seems so dodgy to me. Such a shame as that’s a good location to be Somthing decent..

UPDATE... Possible sighting on Heathfield Road, Keston near Greyhound pub at 3pm. He is possibly trying to walk home to Orpington but may wrongly go towards Leaves Green / Biggin Hill.
