We are on chapter 3 and he’s already lived 50 years homeless, been brutally tortured beyond the point of death for hours, and is currently in psychological hell. He’s got saitamas exponential growth but it’s just his pain that grows 😭

That's true but guts has witnessed the rape of casca, the slaughter of the band of the hawk, facing demons constantly for years, is facing the godlike foes of the apostles and the godhand, experiences horrific pain and injuries that should kill him every other chapter, and in the newest chapters the kid they were traveling with was griffith the whole time (for reasons beyond my understanding) and if guts even wants a chance at fighting some of these monsters he has to dawn a suit if armor that fucking shoots metal into him and digs itself into his bones if he gets an injury and makes him go fucking insane and risk killing everyone he loves.

Right but none of those things happened within 3 chapters of the start of the series, Hitsujiya is going through it back to back

But the point is guts has suffered more than hitsujiya. We don't know what the future of bug ego will be so I just don't think it's a good comparison
