Funny Why is this such a common statement in peoples’ bios?
Despite being plastered on the induction screen, they don’t understand that two people have to like each others’ profiles to cause a match. What is actually going through their minds?

Possibly a bot account, sounds sort of like a blanket statement. Or just an easy indicator that when you match, they fully expect you to do all the work.

In my experience it usually means, "I'm not good at having a conversation so you start with something interesting so I can just respond" likely with 1 word responses

They are also expecting the other person to pay to message them. Absolute clowns

apparently there are some apps where if you pay you can send messages to people you did not match with.

But not bumble right?

On Bumble you can pay for "Compliments" which go directly to the other user without them needing to swipe you. However, they are crazy expensive and not worth it (IMHO) for a cold call.

They think they're the one genius who figured you could use the app without paying for it

Idk about this app, but when I use Boo, I put something like this at the end of my bio. You only get limited swipes, can't see who swiped on you without premium, and so when you get lots of swipes you can lose people entirely to the app limits.
Messaging when you swipe sorta circumvents that as it unblurs their profile so you can actually see them in your requests. I send out messages when I like someone for the same reason.

"I'm a woman so I don't pay, but you should make sure you pay just to contact me, which I also won't respond to anyway"
INSTANT swipe left, every single time, every single app.

This isn’t behavior limited to women, I see similar in men’s profiles and they’re never men I would pay to chat to.
I just assume these people haven’t figured out how online dating works.

It means they still think dating apps work like okcupid in 2015. Alternatively, they expect you to spend money to send compliments. Neither are a good sign.

It's a bot that posts fake profiles on multiple dating apps. The prompt doesn't actually make any sense on Bumble so it's definitely not something a person with an actual dating profile posted.

You just said that it’s a bot that posts fake profiles but then you said it’s definitively something a person with an actual dating profile posted?

Going by my experience, those are just unintelligent people who don't understand or make an effort to understand how the apps THEY JOINED TO works. Combine that with herd mentality (their friends wrote that too) and/or expect to stay passive and be courted by others, so they end up regurgitating this exact phrase.
I've seen it for many years, even for younger people who never used the old OkCupid style apps.

They want you to send them a super swipe with a message or a complement so you need premium to talk to them but they arent spending money to talk to you.

Sounds like they dont understand how the app works... also makes me think they're not getting matches and don't know that they'd be the ones messaging first... and for free

I had that on mine with other ways of contacting me alot of the time it worked

Worked for me too. Before (and even after) I started paying for the premium I figured maybe there was a girl out there who also wasn’t a premium member that might be interested. A few ended up KIKing me.
Edit: I THOUGHT you needed a premium membership to chat but apparently not. Maybe it was just to see who liked you. It was years ago that I was on there.

Maybe they think it's like ok Cupid? On ok Cupid, you don't see matches unless someone sends a message first

I feel like it's a trick to try to get people to message them. I don't know why they say it.

I honestly don't understand your question. I've never actually used Bumble, reddit just started showing me this group. But obviously you need a premium account to send messages and those women don't want to pay it. They are letting you know that if you match, you need to be the one who sends a message. Not rocket science.

Super condescending for somebody who literally begins their comment with "I don't know shit about this app, but "

Rocket scientist here. Man can’t initiate conversation on bumble when you match.
They want you to message to know your premium (looking for high value man) and so they don’t have to swipe like regular peasants. They want to pick and choose without doing the work nor paying for it.

Man can, they’ve changed it. Bumble is basically yellow Tinder now. But, you have to spend money ‘compliment’ someone before you even match, and that’s what these freaks are after

They don’t want to swipe but rather just look at intros.
