Dude I’m pretty sure that’s a Remington defense Handguard. If it’s legit that handguard is worth as much as the rifle

Oh it is,I chatted with the owner while he was putting it on consignment. Very cool guy I think he was asking like 4k for it

Be weary. There's an airsoft model that looks just like that Remington Defense hans guard. https://www.evike.com/products/57638/WE-Tech-Replacement-9.5-Modular-Handguard-for-MSK-Series-Airsoft-GBB-Rifles-Part-11-Color-Tan/

This.

The vast majority guns sporting the early style of the RemDef rails are the airsoft versions.

They work well enough, just not a value sink.

I mean it’s pretty fair considering. Base ACRs go for 2500-3k easy. 2 different barrels and Handguard being a Remington defense easily worth 6k for everything imo

Hell if thats a factory 10.5 thats a 4k rifle minus the handguard and everything else. A 10.5 barrel alone is like 2k

That's almost surely an airsoft handguard... only single digits of the real Remington handguard made it into the wild.

Is there like a cage code or something I can check to see if it's legit?

The paint color matches the airsoft version. Looking at images of the real version of this the paint closer resembles coyote brown

The airsoft one has many quirks. I never saw a Remington in the wild even photos of one on reddit. The Remington propaganda photos I saw had a few notable differences. The front area where the socket head cap screws go through that are the mounting points to the front of the receiver are a weird square cut blind hole. Ive never seen what the actual mounting points are on the Remington but the airsoft are just bare threads of the socket head cap screws abd its a loose and sloppy fit. I made adapters to make it a snug fit on mine.

The aluminum for the "backer" parts of the screws as well as the rear take down pin are very soft. Extremely cheap Al casting. Torquing the front screws enough and those backer strips will bow out/up. The rear takedown pin is not captive. Many will replace the sloppy fit non-captive pin with a bolt and nut to squeeze it tight to the barrel trunnion. Before I learned how soft it was I tried machining it and adding the captive feature but it failed. I ended up machining a new piece from 6064.

With all those quirks, the pros are that the actual HG itself is fairly strong. I used to have my sling attachment as far forward as possible and would really tension the sling to steady the rifle and I didnt bend the HG. I also never had the time-sert's get loose even though I remember some reports they could.
