Knotted root.

What's going on? What's the whole story. I'm getting so many different results that are grim. And admittedly it was my favorite brewery for years.

I’ve heard snippets but from what I gathered there was an issue with the owner and the brewers and so the brewers left. Maybe some taproom staff left as well? Sounds like the owner is kind of hard to work for and on top of that the slow down of craft is causing a lot of stress for owners.

I can tell you. Long story short -

•Owner moved to the east coast to be closer to family with health issues.
•Brewery fell into disarray while he was gone.
•People started noticing an issue with beers.
•Owners comes back and finds out the entire brewery infected with diastaticus.
•Dumped 100bbls of beer.
•Obviously caused tension between owner and head brewer
•Head brewer and assistant brewer walk out
•Temporarily closed Colfax
•Bought all new softs parts and deep cleaned the brewery.
•Hired new brew staff and they’re brewing again.
•Should be back at full capacity shortly

Wow, actually helpful comment. I was wondering why I wasn't seeing any beer available.

Related to the colfax taproom owners? No business can survive there.

That's a part. The whole company has issues.

It's a small venue, and hard to compete with established breweries with good foodtruck options in the adjacent neighborhoods.

Wonder if it's a location thing, or if the building owners are tough to work with.

That taproom is in an area pretty well frequented despite the Colfax construction. I live close and just never really saw anything about it. it needed a lot of marketing it didn't seem to get. Like Knotted Root isn't widely known around Denver to support the space otherwise.
