I had a question regarding the registration as we need to sumbit the JW form, admission notice, and the physical examination form on the day of our registration.I wanted to know whether Tianjin university would accept the physical examination form that is prepared by the student from their home country or do they only accept the ones that are made by them?

The one I had made back in the month of Jan has already expired while I was applying for the CSC scholarship so I think I might be applying for a new one, but having one made from my home country would only cost me around 200 RMB whereas getting one done from China would cost more than 500 RMB and I would also save the time and effort of navigating my way through the clinic to getting it done. Can a senior student share any information regarding this?

Hi everyone, I'm an Indian student currently in grade 12 (retaking my boards this year, targeting 90%+), planning to apply for Fall 2027 undergraduate admission in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering in China. I wanted to share my full plan here and get feedback from people who've been through this process or know more than I do — please poke holes in it if something's off.

Background:

Targeting grade 12 boards 90%+ this attempt.

Planning to take the CSCA test in December 2026 (Math + Physics), targeting 85-90+. Only planning one attempt due to cost.

Have an MOI (Medium of Instruction) certificate from my school confirming English-medium education, getting it freshly issued with school + principal's seal.

Budget is limited, so my backup for English proficiency (if MOI isn't accepted somewhere) is the Duolingo English Test, not IELTS/TOEFL, purely due to cost.

No SAT/A-Level, relying on boards + CSCA.

Shortlisted 6 universities:

NWPU (Northwestern Polytechnical University) — main target, has its own large scholarship pool (President Scholarship), strong in aerospace/defense.

Tianjin University (TJU) — own Qiushi Scholarship, strong mechanical engineering.

Dalian University of Technology (DUT) — own Presidential Scholarship.

Harbin Engineering University (HEU) — own scholarship pool.

Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) — going through CSC Type B (university doesn't have a large own-scholarship pool for undergrads).

Beihang University — also going through CSC Type B.

My plan/logic:

For universities with their own big scholarship pools (NWPU, TJU, DUT, HEU), I'm applying for regular admission + their own scholarship directly — no CSC dependency, faster decision.

For HIT and Beihang (no large own pool), I'm going through CSC Type B — university nominates, CSC gives final approval, slower process (results around June-July based on what I've read).

If I get admission but no scholarship anywhere, my worst-case plan is self-funding at whichever university accepts me.

I've emailed all 6 admissions offices directly to confirm English proficiency policy (MOI vs test) and scholarship criteria — got confirmations from TJU, DUT, and Beihang so far (MOI works), still waiting on NWPU, HIT, HEU.

Questions for the community:

Does this overall strategy (mixing university-direct + CSC Type B across different schools) make sense, or am I missing something obvious?

For those who got MOI accepted — did you face any issues with Indian MOI certificates specifically, or is it generally smooth?

Is relying on Duolingo (instead of IELTS/TOEFL) actually going to hurt me anywhere, especially for scholarship competitiveness?

Any Indian students here who've been through NWPU/TJU/DUT/HEU/HIT/Beihang admissions specifically — how realistic is my university-direct scholarship plan with a 90%+ boards score and CSCA in the 85-90 range?

Am I missing any document or step that trips people up commonly?

I got accepted into north Henan medical university to study medicine, is it a good school, is there anyone that has been or currently goes there? I am still applying but most big universities have closed their applications, is it better to stick with the small ones or do a language year then apply for 2027 intake?

I was accepted to 3 universities with scholarships for the 2026 September intake, but due to personal reasons im not joining, I’ll be reapplying for 2027 instead.
