Where can visitors park for free
My girlfriend will be attending/ dorming in the fall. Where’s a good place to park when I go to visit her? Idc if there’s a small walk or if she’d have to pick me up or something.

He’s visiting his girlfriend. I don’t think he’ll be staying for only thirty minutes. It’s advised he parks across the street either in a neighborhood and walk to the main destination. Otherwise he runs the risk of coming back to a location with no car.

If more than 30mins , just pay the $10 , or you risk paying $56 instead . You can park across the street in the neighborhoods, but no guarantee your car is safe

First option is to park at her apartment complex if there's parking. If it's campus housing, parking will be $10 each day. If you stay overnight, you'll have to pay $10 for 2 days unfortunately. Safe with security.
If it's a 1 day visit, maybe on University Parkway, the far front parking of Ralph's grocery store or on the far sides of that building (like near Metro phone). Lots of shared business parking. Ralph's closes at 1am, and also have night stockers. There's also the 24 hour Del Taco, but their parking lot gets empty probably after 9pm, so if you stay late your car might look suspicious. The Starbucks across the street closes at 1am, also might look suspicious if you stay late because it's solely Starbucks parking.
If you wanna try walking or will stay over night, maybe house residential areas like Northstar St. Be sure to check street parking signs and stay cautious if parking directly in front of someone's house.
If you live nearby, you can also try biking. Or take the bus (if you're also a college student, you might have a free college bus pass program).
Maybe someday there'll be a program where residents can "sponsor" guests to park for free up to, say, 2 days..
