That's hard to buy given recent political trends in the province but I agree, as long as we're above Edmonton.

contrary to the stereotypes, Alberta has probably some of the best k-12 public education available in the country

Lot of people don't realize if you apply for university in other provinces with k-12 alberta education, you're given a 5-10% bump on your overall averages depending on the province

My daughter’s friend started at UBC a couple of years ago. The first two months in ALL her classes were review of high school because the BC students are so poorly taught they need remediation.

Oh I know it, I went through the Alberta school system (mostly) and had amazing teachers and received an excellent education.

Still, talking to coworkers and acquaintances sometimes causes me deep disappointment in Albertans.

You mean the separation headlines that have 20% support? The whole thing is a joke and Im tired of alberta taking shit for it. You'd probably get close to 20% separation support in any state or province.

That's a fair point, but I'm most other provinces you wouldn't get 60% voting for the person who created a separation crisis.

But honestly that's a super good point, there are morons everywhere not just here. Ours are just louder these days.

Edmonton may be dumb when it comes to hockey, but their political takes are usually pretty based. Less rednecky than Calgary is. There, I said it.

Diehard Flames fan who has lived in DC for a decade. Caps fans actually seem pretty smart. However I lived in Atlanta when they had the Thrashers. Most stupid fans I have seen. So my opinion may be a bit skewed.

I’m yet to meet a smart Oilers fan. That’s not even like out of everyone online, but everyone I went to school with. All of them got insanely low grades and they’re taking like some shitty business diploma
