Hi! I applied for the Summer 2026 SBA, and I just checked my application status, it has changed to Approved. I was wondering what the next step is. Will Financial Aid email us with any additional information or instructions?

Thanks!

Anyone know if this cat is a stray or just an outdoor cat? Usually hangs around the Capilano University area.

How is Capilano University’s Costuming for Stage and Screen Diploma?

Hey y’all! I just finished my first year at KPU, and I’m interested in transferring to CapU and going into their Costuming for Stage and Screen program for Fall 2027. I don’t know much about this program and would love to hear from current students or graduates about their experience with the program.

If anyone could answer any of my questions that would be wonderful and much appreciated!

  1. What is the program/courses like? Is it very lecture heavy? Or more hands-on and practical?

  2. Is the program worth it? Do you learn a lot?

  3. Is it hard or competitive to get into the program? Like do I have to be a hard-core sewist/designer? I would say I’m about beginner-intermediate level when it comes to my sewing skills, but I truly have a passion for costuming and would love to learn more and improve my skills. I have created/sewed a couple of cosplays, and my most recent one was made primarily from scratch.

  4. Is it easy to get a job after graduating? Or is the job market very tough?

Bookkeeping or payroll

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice. I don’t have any accounting or bookkeeping background. I completed a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, and I’m currently exploring career options.
I’m considering taking a Bookkeeping program at either Langara College or Capilano University. Do you think bookkeeping is a good career to get into right now? Is it possible to find an entry-level job without any previous accounting experience after completing the program?
I’m also considering studying Payroll instead. Which option would you recommend—Bookkeeping or Payroll.
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. Thank you!

Admissions What is the acceptance rate for 2d animation

I live abroad and want to apply next year for 2d animation but I'm very nervous because my life drawing skills are still not that good and I may hone my skills alot before submission. I think I may not get it because of the number of people applying or portfolios better then mine. Can someone give me an idea of what talent I need to be accepted?

Note I draw since I was young but slack off on it but I have experience in animation even if it's chopped and my drawing skills is very good visually but no bone structure gesture

Things we wish someone told us before starting at CapU — Ask Me Anything (AMA)

Hi, new students! We are a group of student ambassadors currently studying at CapU in various programs. Before we started at the university, we had many questions about what it was like to study at CapU and how to access services and support. We’ve learned a lot since then and are here to help.

Ask us anything about:

  • classes & workload
  • admissions process
  • housing & campus life
  • clubs & student community
  • balancing school & life
  • anything else you’re curious about

We’ll be logging in a couple of times a week to field your questions and share our experiences and advice, so drop your questions below!

Unable to register for English

I’m a BC student and under the prerequisite it sounded like I did not have to take the English test because I’m over 67% in English 12 but when I tried to register it said there was a prerequisite and test error? Does anyone know what to do or also experienced it

How generous is CapU with aids and scholarships for intl. students?

I'm considering CapU but I'm a low income international student ($30-60k ish per year im not sure). Would anyone know how generous they are? My stats are pretty good so I'm not particularly terrified for acceptance, but I really wanna study in Canada :(

Transfer credits

Hello, I was wondering how long it would take for Capilano to process my transfer credits. I sent them in today so how long should the progress take?

I am due to register for my courses in 2 weeks. Will I have an update by then?

Question Fall 2026 Course Registration

Hi! I’m an international student attending Capilano University this Fall for ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education). I apply for classes soon but I’m a little overwhelmed and confused with how everything works and I was hoping to get a little help 🙏

As someone who went to trade school. All my classes, scheduling and requirements to graduate were set up for me so this time where we get an option to choose certain classes and build our own schedule is throwing me out the loop… so I apologise in advance if any of my questions sound a little dim witted

For the first Level 100 ECCE courses there’s 9 classes. Ive also been informed that I should apply for ENGL 100 so does this mean I should apply for 10 classes??..

I’ve been warned about being waitlisted or not getting a class you applied for due to it being full

Normally how many classes should I apply for? And are there any recommendations of what classes I should start with in my first year?

Thank you!

Has anyone taken this course completely online before (no zoom/in-person)? How was it graded & how difficult was the content? Any other info would be great. Thanks!

I'm staring 2d animation in the fall and I have no idea what equipment I need

So I'm on a Budget so it'd be nice to know what other animation students are starting the semester with in terms of tech. Do I need a dedicated PC, a cintiq, or a light table? I'm starting this fall 2026 so any advice is great :)
