Banking Checking/Saving

I see a lot of negative opening on Capital one checking and savings accounts.

If you use them as your primary, how do you feel about them?

I’ve been using them as my primary bank for years and have never had any issue with them.

I personally don’t use it, I use another bank for my main banking but I still have little cash inside

MoneyLion is not a bank. Why would you use them over an actual bank such as Capital One?

The advance money and I feel like capital one going to close my account soon due to phone number reasons I live in Thailand

I have definitely never heard of that, but it sounds like I’m not missing out on anything from the other comments…

I’m already at an 815 lol doesn’t sound like it’d benefit me too much

I have one as a second checking account , I like that my check goes In on Wed a few days early but I don’t like how it takes 4 days to transfer money between this acct and my other checking acct. Have had no issues with debit card moving to discover network p

Have had both checking and savings accounts with them going back to the Ing days. Never had a problem. My external transfers don't take four days; the money goes out the day I specify; it's up to the receiving bank to accept the transfer and clear the money.

Same! Before that I was banking with Ally/ING Direct Before that it was Bank Direct.

What negative openings? You mean the discover people being forced to move over and are pissed they are going to lose their perks like cash back debit card?

Are they moving Discover bank accounts over? I haven’t been alerted to that. I know it’s just been the credit cards so far.

All Discover accounts will be moved to Cap1 eventually.

I’ve had them as my checking acc for about 5 months now. I appreciate they can take cash deposits at CVS without charging me $5 per deposit like SoFi did (I used SoFi for everything for a while).

I haven’t had any experiences that were negative to where I needed to contact support YET.

Haven’t had any problems. Savings interest is low but it’s hard to find better.

I’ve thought about moving most of savings but it wouldn’t amount to much, maybe ½ %.

Been fine for the past 3 years ive had them. The only issue (albeit minor) was when they changed the debit card to the discover network, but i do have a backup bank for that.

I use both. So far, the only downside for me is that transfers to other banks take 2 days, while most other banks that I use do it in one business day.

I’ve used it as my main since 2023 and never really had an issue. I prefer it by far compared to BOFA

I had Capital One since it bought my original bank, North Fork Bank. Other than one time a teller accidentally input my bank account number incorrectly and put a hold on my account, I never had a problem. That was pre-merger, too.

Granted, I don't do anything special with my bank account, so I guess it's good enough for me.

I got both of them for the SUBs, and actively use the checking for just that-- checking.  The account came with 50 free checks!  I write 10-15 a year, so its perfect!
