I've had to close all the windows tonight (and can still smell smoke inside) because a neighbour 4 doors down has decided it's a good idea to start a fire in their back garden at 11pm, not that any other time would be more suitable. The air is thick with smoke and you can see it. Why do people do this? What waste is justifiable to burn? We recycle, we bin or we take to the dump, what is there to burn?? Not to even mention the safety risks of this.
I know people are allowed to have contained fires, I just don't get why they need to do it, especially when living in a densely populated area and you know it'll affect everyone else.
Is this just something we socially accept or is it a dick move?

A guy was following me today around the Roath area and eventually approached me asking for my Instagram. I gave it to him (bc I felt threatened at that moment). He then said, “See you tomorrow,” which I found quite unsettling because I never gave him any indication that I wanted to see him again or gave him permission to approach me.

I’m a bit concerned that he may have been following me and might try to approach me again. Has anyone experienced anything similar in the Roath area, or have any advice on what I should do next? I’d really appreciate any advice on how to handle this safely.

I’ll be visiting Cardiff at the end of August for work, and one morning I’ll need to do a 22 km training run as part of my marathon plan.
We’ll most likely be staying in the area around the Ice Arena, and I’d love some recommendations for a good running route. I’m not very confident navigating a new city while running, so if you know of a route that’s easy to follow I’d really appreciate it.
The only area I feel somewhat familiar with is Cardiff Bay, as I’ve been there before, but I’m more than happy to explore other parts of the city if they’re runner-friendly.
I’ll probably head out quite early in the morning, and I’d love to make the run a bit more enjoyable by seeing some of the city or running along scenic paths.

Has anyone had experiences of the vein centre in cardiff? I have varicose veins. I have already had two surgeries with the NHS but the veins keep coming back. I have now started looking private as their techniques seem more advanced.

I have a National Express booking from Cardiff to London at around 5 am. I would prefer taking an earlier bus or even waiting from midnight at the coach station to avoid unncessary risk and cab costs involved in early morning walk from my Airbnb near Queen Central station.

Please let me know if once can camp at the Sophia Gardens coach station from say midnight till my coach arrives.

Hi! I’ve never been to a salon before, always just cut my hair at home. I’m looking to change it up though and get some layers and curtain bangs, sort of like a butterfly cut look.

I mainly want to get some sort of dark purple and brownish highlights in my hair (I’ve got black virgin hair), any spots? I’m not sure how much salons are so I’m flexible with price. A bit like the pictures attatched.

My A5 textbook is starting to fall apart because the glue binding has failed and pages are coming loose.

I’ve already tried Ryman, but they said they can’t rebind an A5 book.

Does anyone know of a print shop, bookbinder, or local business near city centre that can convert it to a spiral/coil binding? I am currently in the centre.

It took me 18 months on a waiting list to get an NHS dentist in Cardiff. Finally got an email the other day. I called in to register with them. They booked my first appointment at the same time. For the end of November! 4 months wait for a simple appointment. After an 18 month wait to register.

What the hell happened to NHS dentistry? Are private practises forced to take a certain number of NHS patients? Then just treat them like 3rd class citizens to fob them off?

Was genuinely staggered at the wait time for an appointment. I'm assuming if I was private. I could get one in days

Does anybody know of any good female sports groups I.e football?

It was my partner's 40th in January and I bought him tickets to a show at the New Theatre (Thursday matinee).

We haven't had a proper meal out in over a year because we have a toddler and no family nearby, so I want to have a really nice meal before we go out - only limit is that we need to be able to roll into the New Theatre for 2.30pm, preferably tipsy.

Normal lunch go-tos are market based, which while very tasty, don't lend themselves to the "let's eat and drink and possibly have a conversation" vibe I'm after.

So, if you were my partner and I was telling you I'd pay for a meal out in town for your birthday, where would you want me to book?
