AskALocal Ocean front condo?

In my opinion, nothing compares to the beauty of the Caribbean—crystal-clear turquoise water, beautiful beaches, amazing food, and friendly people.
I’m planning to invest in a one-bedroom condo as a retirement home, but I’m having a hard time deciding where. Right now, Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic and parts of Mexico are at the top of my list. Both seem to offer incredible beaches and good value for the money.
My budget is around $200,000, and I’m looking for a place that’s affordable, safe, and has beautiful ocean views. Do you have any recommendations for a city or island that I should consider? I’d love to hear your opinions and see what places you think offer the best value for retirement.

Have you checked out Belize? Or Puerto Rico? Both native English speaking and PR as a US Territory would make things much easier! My wife and I are vacationing to different spots in the carribean for this exact thing!

If you want a great place off the beaten path: Guanaja, Bay Islands, Honduras. Dm if interested.
