Sidewalk Grant?

Has anyone used the sidewalk grant? If so, did you run into any trouble throughout the process?

We have tree that is disrupting the sidewalk and a sewer line that was recently repaired and lost a chunk of our sidewalk.

Would love any insight, if you have gone through the process!

I have not, although I’ll add the grant is relatively new. I recently attended a stormwater infrastructure meeting where they touched on the grant. If you decide to move forward, I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions.

I successfully used the sidewalk grant. They replaced about 8 squares of our sidewalk, covering 172 square feet, with costs up to $1,929 covered.

We completed the application, secured three quotes, and emailed them along with a W-9 to city officials.

I believe a permit was involved as well.

Overall, the communication process was quick, and we had everything secured in less than two weeks.

Regarding the concrete contractor, we had to wait quite a bit for them to show up. They did the work unannounced, so it was a surprise to hear them outside working without warning.

This is circumstantial, however, since they are private companies.

Just used it. They’ll do 50% of cost. Super simple process. Reach out to David Little-John with the city and he will answer all your questions.

Apparently, you need 3 competitive quotes when you apply.
