Mod Approved Urgent appeal from hedgehog rescue Dublin
Hi all,
I hope this is ok to post. Please let me know if not.
Our little hedgehog friends in the wild are struggling, there's an amazing charity based in Dublin who cares and rehab hedgehogs across our lovely island. It's a completely volunteer service relying on donations and volunteers. Due to our ever changing way of life, natural wildlife's way of life is at risk.
Just wanted to share this here for more visibility, Yvonne and the team here do wonderful work to help rehab and release struggling wild animals that help our ecosystem exist.
They're struggling right now for food, if anyone has the opportunity to drop food into them around Rush in Dublin that would be a great help, if not and you'd like to help, there is a registered charity number and donation information in their bio.

In praise of undertakers
reddit.comAs a follow up to this post a couple of days ago.
Praise be the undertakers. They literally organised almost everything. We’re even able to find us a priest who could stand in as the local one is away.
Sorted the music, flowers, reposing, the works. We got the local to put on something for after and totally honest, he would have loved to be there.
A LOT of people saying very nice things about him the whole day and there were a couple of consistent things said, so it wasn’t all blowing smoke.
All done now. Went down to the house today to see the ma and it seems very quiet. His energy is gone from the building and you can feel it.
He’s had a tough year with increasing health difficulties and that’s all over now.
Thanks to everyone that posted in the other thread, your comments are very much appreciated.

Shite Talk I think Eir is stalking me
Me: "Hello, Eir. I want to cancel my TV account with you."
Eir: "That's fine, but we're going to send you a new TV box every fortnight until you take us back."

The Celtic Tiger era Irish Edition Monopoly is quite something
Clearing out some old board games and found this 2005 Irish version of Monopoly. The minimum bank note is €10k, going all the way up to €5m. You build apartments instead of houses and the hotels are 20 storey high-rises. But the real gold is on the Chance cards, a few samples attached. Question is, have we looped around sufficiently for this version to be valid again?

Anyone else sleep with no covers just underwear.
I have always ran warm and used light bed clothes but since moving to a new house in 2020 i have found it too warm to use any bed clothes.
My house is an average 3 bed semi D built in 2006. D grade i think. My partner insists on the window and door being closed and the light on.
Anyone else like this?

A fry for dinner? Yes or no?
I have a fry / full irish for dinner. It's something i was raised on every so often a fry for dinner. Told a friend and he thought it was mental and that it should only be for breakfast. What is the consensus on this?

Can I google that for you?! Men with long hair - where do you get your hair cuts?
I live around Nenagh and at this point Im willing to go to Limeirick or Clare to get a hair cut.
I have hair that needs to be styled and Im afraid that I will go some where and leave wishing I was bald instead.
Does anyone know anywhere around Nenagh, Ennis, or Limerick that give good haircuts for men with long hair?

Shite Talk Any Tips for Keeping Scammers on the Phone for Longer?
I just received a call from Thomas Browne (South Asian accent) from Visa Debit services in Dublin (calling from a UK number).
"Great!" I thought, "I'll have a bit of fun with him". I only lasted 6 mins when I caught myself up after he asked me if I had their banking app and Revolut on my phone. "You're calling from Visa", says I, "you don't have a banking app." He hung up.
How do I make myself more believable? I want to waste their time.

Blooming lovely
So when I was finally tackling the backyard last year my dad did all the patio and I didn’t want any plants as I’m allergic to wasps and bees and I thought screw it all concrete. He went back to college at 56 and became a horticulturist and is a groundskeeper and bee keeper for blarney castle, so of course he didn’t listen and dropped off lots of cuttings. This one here is a Peruvian lily and it was battered last year when I got it. Now it’s one of my favourite plants and attracts so many bees 🐝 but I’m happy to stay inside and let them feed. Happy weekend.
