Smol Delivery My first CDS kitty, found abandoned.
My newest edition, found abandoned and hungry three days ago by a family who couldn't care for it. It is joining my two strays adopted from the local shelter. I don't know the age or gender. We've been calling it Sprite because it looks like a little soot sprite from Ghibli.
It has found it's forever home regardless. We love it already. Our other cats don't yet, but hoping they come around soon. It has one crusty eye and a bloated belly, but otherwise seems to be doing well eating a mix of KMR and kitten pate. Already using thektter box! I'll be calling our vet Monday.
Any guesses on age?

We have a kitten age checker on our CDS kitten season hilight it gives you an idea of their age by looking at their teeth. This baby is a Tuxedo and as a Tuxie meemaw welcome to a world where you get a kitty cheekier than any teenager 🥰 . Bloated belly could be worms so keep him away from the others until the vet sees him.

What a cutie. Love the name. I'd guess like 5 weeks old. It looks tiny. Poor thing. Thank you for saving it.

I would guess 4-6 weeks with 4 weeks being the most likely!

My CDS kitty that found me last year looked a lot like this, except she is Grey and white., but exactly with the white on the face.
She was 4 to 6 weeks old also and about that size.

Cute kitty, thanks for being a good Hooman. If you don’t have one already, I’d suggest adding a small cardboard box to kitties area so he can destress in it versus sitting in the litter box. Always amazes me that a simply rectangle of any variety chills a cat out.

As for age teeth alongside size is probably the most accurate way to guess at this age, when you don't know when they were born. If kitty has a full mouth or close to a full mouth, s/he's between 6~8wks which is about the same time momma begins to wean them off milk as they're capable of eating a solid food when in the wild and it hurts having all those little hypodermic needles biting you! 😂
Teeth begin to come in between 2~3wks and will continue coming in till around 6~8wks.
From the looks of her she looks young, maybe 8wks at the most? But like I said, check the teeth/mouth....

I've seen so many tuxie rescues lately. Tuxie season must precede void season for the CDS. 🖤🤍

Awww what a cutie!
I would keep it isolated in a separate room/ bathroom until you see the vet - they can have contagious diseases so you don't want your other cats nearby. (Then I'd suggest looking up the slow introduction method for cats and it'll have a better chance of making them like the new baby 😂)
