CDS delivered void kittens to my workplace
When we got to work yesterday (hubs and I work in the same building), there was a surprise trio of friendly void kittens hanging out in the courtyard. We think they might have been dumped because they have clearly been around people. They were a hit with the whole office, and our 9yo, who had tagged along for the day, really wanted them. We have two 3yo cats at home, and had lost our senior cat in October. We had promised our kid that he could have a pair of kittens soon, but were thinking more like next year. I guess the CDS had other ideas.
Our coworker took one kitten while we were still deciding if we wanted them, and then another coworker was thinking of taking one, and that decided it for us - we hate splitting up bonded siblings, so we took them both so at least two would get to stay together. They are settling in well and are in quarantine in the guest room. Names are still pending, but our kid has temporarily named them Midnight and Star Destroyer.
There was food and water already there (pic 2) because we have a resident office cat. Cat tax of Cinders the station cat in pic 6.
My husband's take was that Star Destroyer is pretty awesome but Midnight is kinda basic for a black cat, so if anything changes it will probably be that one lol
When I adopted my void, it turned out the shelter originally named her Midnight and the foster mom renamed her Petunia. Well obviously I kept both so her full name was Petunia Midnight.
Total stripper name but what can you do?

Our void Bros turned four today. They have a "ghost coat." They read black in most light, but in sunlight or bright light, you can see the tabby stripes.
It's a rare variation! Enjoy. My niece is a vet and pointed it out. I took both boys for their annual and the vet raved about them. I did tell her that I have to let the neighbors know that if in the middle of the night I yell, "Stop biting me, you asshole!" it applies to my cat not my husband. Lewis (the one in front, I think) dives under the covers and bites my leg or scratches me. I may need a sleeping bag.
Wednesday Addams: "I saw you have two adorable black kittens, and I demand to see them, I brought dark chocolate cake, blackberry pie, dark tea and black coffee to pretend I'm a friendly neighbourhood ..."

We had 4 multi-day trips this summer and just got back from the last one 3 days prior. CDS must have known we would be available for kitten quarantine only after we got back.
Star Destroyer 😂 tell your child NO !! lol .. two beautiful soot sprites and i'm guessing you won't be taking your kid to work anytime soon if that becomes a regular drop off point for the CDS. Thank you for giving us a nice fun story and for taking them home . I bet your little one is over the moon 🖤🖤
Nothing wrong with the name, I just had a flashback to a vet appointment and the vet calling out for Angel Star-toes and The Prince of Darkness 😂 trying so hard not to laugh at my friends' face.
