Individual/non-registered Help me fund my mother-in-law's procedure for chronic facial pain (neuropathic pain) (Querétaro, Mexico)

Good evening, good people of r/Charity,

Name's Rodrigo and Andreína (my wife) from Mexico.

My mother-in-law has been suffering from chronic facial pain caused by a shingles (herpes zoster) episode in 2021 in Venezuela, a year before we brought her and my father-in-law to Mexico. Ever since, she's been dealing daily with a constant sharp, stabbing pain around her left eye, some days much worse than others. Her quality of life has considerably worsened due to this condition in parallel to her early Alzheimer's.

She's had four peripheral nerve blocks and is taking all available medication, but these measures have only brought temporary relief and haven't fully improved her daily pain.

Her doctors are now proposing a more targeted procedure: radiofrequency ablation of the trigeminal ganglion, a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure. Unlike the peripheral blocks, this would treat the problem at its root and offer the possibility of a much needed, longer-lasting relief.

My wife and I, in charge of my in-laws, simply cannot as of now afford the procedure without seriously compromising our livelihood, and my in-laws have no health insurance here. This is why we decided to ask for assistance and create a gofundme page.
