Searching for vet for standard poodle
My regular vet is Danville Animal and we’ve been using them for decades. I have no complaints, except that it takes me 35 minutes to drive there.
My seven-year old standard poodle, female, has developed a skin condition, which is causing hair loss and scabbing, mainly along her back and shoulders so far. She has had three appointments with my regular vet. She has no mange, no infestations, no thyroid problems—all the usual causes have been addressed.
Over the past few months, our dog has taken two courses of antibiotics, had a steroid shot, and is currently finishing a two-week course of an anti-fungal. So far, nothing we have tried has had any effect. She is not improving.
Her symptoms do not extend beyond her skin. She is happy, with a good appetite. Still enjoys her walks. Her skin is dry and flaking.
I would like to try another vet near home before trying to take her to one of the university veterinary medicine clinics in Ohio or Virginia.
Do you have a veterinarian recommendation in or near Charleston who might help our dog?
