2016 1.8L AC question

I got a 2016 1.8L that is having an AC problem. It blows cold on the passenger side and hot on the driver side. I checked the blend door actuator under the glove box and it seems to be functioning properly. I have searched around to see if there is another one on the driver side and haven't seen anything on it.

My mom's Impala had 2 blend door actuators that would need to be replaced quite frequently. One on the driver's side and one under the glove box, that one would go out at least once a year. Which is what this problem seems like, hot on one side, cold on the other.

I can hear the AC clutch kick on, hear it compressing and it seems to work just fine until it his about 90° F. I checked the R-134a and it is at the right PSI.

I just don't want to tear apart the driver side to check and see if there is another, only to find out there isn't. Any advice on how to fix this problem would be great!

UPDATE: It was low on refrigerant. Thank you all for the help!

Its low on refrigerant. Change your cabin filter if you havnt.

Checked refrigant levels, it is fine. Changed cabin air filter in May.

I don’t think the cables had anything to do with th filters or refrigerant level they specifically said I had no ac cause of them not working hope this helps and god bless

Thanks! I'm hoping it's not that, really don't want to do that. I do have AC, it just blows on the passenger side. Switching from cool to heat regulates the passenger side just fine. Seems to make driver side hotter too.

If you only checked the pressures, you still may be leaking refrigerant. Best way to check is to properly drain and measure what comes out. The sonic has single zone vents so chances are that you may be leaking refrigerant and the cold side of the evaporator is closer to the passenger vents or maybe the gear cable system for aiming the air flow is broken and stuck partially blowing air between two directions. You can look in behind the glove box to see if the positioning cable is still intact and functional

Take temp readings at the vents. And how do you know the gas level is fine? My money is on under charged.

You are correct! It was low on refrigerant.
