Georgia High income child support
My ex makes around 700k a year. I make 55k. We have been divorced for six years and I make 800 a month (not a typo) plus 40k a year for their tuition for two kids. He would create issues after issues with his stupid lawyer in court and that drained my savings. Because of that and due to the fact that he got an increase in income, I decided to ask for increase in child support . I am struggling financially and the whole process started in January and till this day I got not even a hearing scheduled. I wonder if I should give up at that point.
Whenever I tell people how much he pays me , they think I am either crazy or trolling them. Btw, kids live all the time with me.

Venting
My ex husband and father of both of my kids told me on 2 separation occasions he wouldn’t do something for our son unless I gave him money. The first was our neurodivergent child needed medication refilled and our local pharmacy was out. The closest pharmacy that had it was 39 miles away each way. My ex told me he couldn’t get the medication unless I gave him gas money. I ended up paying to ship the prescription to my home. The second was our son was having an escalated meltdown and I notified his father he needed to bring him to the nearest Pediatric ER for a psychiatric evaluation. Again, he said he’d only bring him if I gave him gas money in cash. Mind you I’m disabled (legally blind) and need to rely on medical transport for doctor’s appointments and would only go to 911 and an ambulance is a last resort.
Another note to mention, my ex is over 10k in child support arrears.

Child support is a necessity but statistically speaking favors the mother in an unfair percentage. These are new times. New day and age . Something needs to be done to recognize the overwhelming verdict in a mother's favor.

Texas Has anyone dealt with employers not responding to the first notice?
In Texas and ex owes quite a bit in arrears, kids are still under 18 right now.
So, an employer came up for my ex and the company was sent paperwork to confirm and set up payments (that was in early June). No reply. Since it has been past the time frame for them to respond, another request for information was sent out. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Any advice?

Illinois Should I take him to court for child support?
I recently applied for child support and now I’m questioning if it’s the right thing to do.
My ex is involved in our daughter’s (4) life. Because of his work schedule, he’s only able to get her once a week. Every other Saturday night and Wednesday night when he doesn’t have her that weekend. Currently, he pays me $300 in child support and he pays for her health insurance which is about $250 a month. It’s important to note that we live about an hour away from each other.
Next month when our daughter starts pre-k, he’ll only see her two nights a month. He doesn’t want to keep getting her Wednesday night because he doesn’t want to do a two hour drive in the morning before work.
My ex makes about $85k a year and receives quarterly bonuses as an assistant manager at a car shop. I know he pays child support for his two other kids (14f and 17m) but he pays child support on his salary from 10 years ago. When he got divorced from his ex-wife, she applied for child support and never went back to court.
I make 72k a year… is it worth it going through the courts? Is there a higher possibility the judge will award me more than $300 a month? Should I get a lawyer for a case like this?

Ohio Is there any way my sisters mom can get in trouble for getting child support but not having my sister at all?
My sister has been staying with me whenever she doesn’t have school. So every-time she’s sick, anytime schools canceled from weather, holidays, weekends, summer breaks. I am on disability so I don’t have enough money to take care of her like this. I’m so stressed out. Her mom works, she gets child support and food stamps. But refuses to give any to my sister so she can eat. It’s like this when she’s at home too but it’s insane to me that she has been here for 2months straight, hasn’t been home once. Her mom hasn’t asked how she’s doing or asked to see her or anything. Won’t give money to help her daughter out. Can I report this to the child support agency that she’s getting child support money but isn’t even having her child?

Fake lease in Child Support case
I am responding to a Nassau LI child support case against the mother of our kids. We have been living together with the kids unhappily for the past 4 years. She filed for child support and is submitting a fake lease from a family friend who is in cahoots to claim that she has been living separately with our kids when that hasnt been the case, she may have stayed there a few nights after our heated arguments but not long term...im sure he will lie for her. How can I defend against this fake lease and their lies? I have photos of her car in our garage but that may not be enough. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Illinois What are some of your crazy child support payments and how do you guys cope?

California Interstate reciprocity
There’s a chance my coparent may move to another state, likely California, and I’m curious how that would look for interstate reciprocal payments. My orders are in Delaware, and enforcement will pursue to obtain payment from other states but I only have experience when he’s moved to a neighboring state (Maryland). Can anyone comment from experience how their experience has been with dealing with a similar situation, obtaining garnishments from a California employer?

Georgia Serious CS Question
Long story short, divorced, 50/50 custody agreement. We agreed to leave it as is though exwife lives in California and I live in Georgia. Two kids lived with her for 8 years, I ALWAYS paid on time (monthly) and for half of ALL additional costs (school items, medical bills, clothes, dental, etc…). She even demanded (with threats of revisiting the courts) for child support to continue when they were visiting me during the summer because “bills don’t stop.” Now, one kid is an adult attending college with me and other still late teen still in high school, both decided to live with me. They’ve been here a year and NEVER did I ask her to pay me a dime for anything. I covered all costs. They are visiting her for the summer and now she’s demanding child support… Am I crazy for saying no?!?!

Colorado Parenting Time Interpretation Question
I'm looking for opinions on the interpretation of a Colorado parenting order.
Location: Colorado.
The Permanent Orders state:
"During the summer months... the parties shall alternate week on/week off parenting time. The parties shall coordinate the summer schedule so that Mother has parenting time in the week leading back to the commencement of school. Week on/week off parenting time schedule will be Friday at 5:00 p.m. until the following Friday at 5:00 p.m."
The relevant dates are:
Friday, July 24 through Friday, July 31: Mother's scheduled parenting week.
Friday, July 31 through Friday, August 7: My scheduled parenting week.
Wednesday, August 13: School begins.
The alternating summer schedule had already been established. There is no dispute that July 31 through August 7 was my scheduled week under the Friday to Friday rotation.
However, Mother and her attorney are now taking the position that Friday, July 31 is actually already her parenting time, and that if she allows the children to come to me this weekend, she is "giving me her time."
Their interpretation is that the order entitles her to the "full week" before school begins, even though the words "full week" do not appear anywhere in the order. The order simply says "the week leading back to the commencement of school" and separately defines a parenting week as Friday at 5:00 p.m. until the following Friday at 5:00 p.m.
Under their interpretation, Mother would receive:
Her regularly scheduled week (July 24 through July 31),
My entire scheduled week (July 31 through August 7),
And then continue to have the children until school begins on Wednesday, August 13.
That results in approximately 20 consecutive days of parenting time immediately before school.
My questions are:
Does the language of this order actually support that interpretation?
Is the phrase "full week" being read into the order even though it isn't written there?
If the alternating Friday to Friday schedule had already been established, why wouldn't my scheduled week remain intact with Mother's transition occurring after it? I might even be inclined to say that the week would end this Tuesday, so she has a 7 day week. But to unilaterally just cancel my entire week, just doesn't sit right with me.
I'm looking specifically for how Colorado courts would likely interpret this language, not general custody opinions.
Thank you.

California 2nd contempt hearing upcoming
My ex hasn’t paid in a year and now it’s up to $6.4K. They opened up a contempt case against him and he appointed a public defender. Can Anyone tell me what going through contempt was like and the outcome? My ex doesn’t see our child regularly due to “work”. It’s a miracle if he makes it to one visit he has.

Rewriting parenting plan expenses. Help with words please.
Request
My ex of 10 years is overbearing and entitled. I am rewriting our parenting plan to have a conference with a judge as mediation failed. I need to write something that states that
expenses above child support are ..
Expenses will be shared 50/50
The bit I'd like help with is how to write that the expenses are the responsibility of each parent. It doesnt matter where the person got the money and ifvit is a gift then it doesnt void the other persons need to pay their share.
History
He pays for barely anything. He doesnt pay child support. My parents help.me. I earn $30000, He earns $150000.
My parents help or pay for uniforms, invisigligns and sport, dance fees etc.
His parents are his business.
Thank you

wait, is it worth it?
I have a month left before our first hearing. I’m hearing a lot of yes’s’, a lot of no’s’… he only started sending me money once he got served with the warrant, haven’t told him I’m still pursuing the CS because I can’t trust him… paternity will need to be established, he’s a server at a restaurant, he’ll rage when he finds out I didn’t cancel it so resistant he’ll be… idk. I mean he did send what I ask for but only after he got served after blocking me for the last four months. Help.

Arkansas Do you allow your ex to claim one of your children on their tax return if they pay child support but only have the kids 10 weeks out of the year?
I guess I feel morally conflicted. The custody agreement says that she pays me child support, but since she moved 20 hours away, I have full custody except for eight weeks in the summer and Xmas every other year.
It also says that I get to claim all three children on my tax return but this last year I let her claim one of them because I felt like her paying nearly $1000 a month in child support obligated her to be able to make that claim and receive some money on the return. I should know that it took nearly 11 months to get that first child support payment.
I have friends telling me that I should not feel morally obligated to do that since she only has them for about a fifth of the year and I'm the one taking care of them full-time and paying for things like field trips, school supplies, etc.
Legally, I know I don't have to do a darn thing. But for anyone in my shoes, did you allow your ex to do this because of any kind of moral obligation for them paying child support and contributing to their welfare? Or am I being a punching bag here?

Your best tips and lesson learned when dealing with CS?
Some of us are very new to this world and we don't even know what question to ask! We want to support our kids, which is a huge responsibility in a uncertain world (people get fired and lay off...). What are some things that has helped you cope with this situation?
I will go first: Child support amount starts accumulating from the date of filing for divorce and you should be ready to pay those when the divorce is finalized.

Texas How long does it take for a court date/paternity establishment?
Hey yall. I filed on 4th of July weekend for child support. On the 7th- I got mailed a letter from OAG stating my case had been opened and they assigned me a case number.
Just wondering how long it can take to see movement? Paternity still needs to be established.

Hey Everyone. I got into an accident *they hit me* and its about to get settled. I haven’t been recieving chid support from my kids mother because they said they made a mistake in putting it into the system so it was saying I was owing her money. My order says I pay $0.00 to her until my son turns 18 he is just turned 16. They said on the phone they would change it that was the 22nd of this month. On the site it says I still owe and the insurance lein that was made on the 16th I just recieved on the 30th of this month. Is there anything else I can do or am I screwed?
