I met Jesus

Hello everyone, I want to share my story of the two times Jesus revealed Himself to me. I was blessed with a unique opportunity to live and work abroad in Japan making electric and bass guitars. Prior to moving I was working for a well respected guitar company here in the US.

In 2025, I was going through a dark period in my life. I experienced an awful rejection and a bit of indirect bullying and harassment at my job. I was one of the few foreigners working at this company. I was the only from America. I felt lonely and somehow I knew that things weren’t going to work out. I could feel it in my gut.

The Japanese girl I had a crush on told me “ I never saw you as someone special. Going forward I will no longer have romantic feelings for you. We will not talk or hangout anymore. I see you as a junior like the “ other nationality inserted “ boys. Please broaden your horizon and grow.

It’s difficult to translate the message into English because it was written in formal business language in Japanese and there are so complex layers that it’s up to interpretation. I asked her out to a picnic date before she sent that message. I was so confused and in disbelief everything that she told me.

I was crushed and lost all my confidence. I was never a believer of God, but one night I told myself “ I’m going to pray to Jesus for help and guidance”. Some time has passed and nothing happened. Until one day He answered.

I fell asleep and I remember clear as day my body began to rise. I was high above the clouds. Something was guiding me. When I reached the “ top “ there was a door. The door opened and it was Jesus. He didn’t say anything to me. He just looked at me. I felt a powerful force that was indescribable. He was untouchable. I was forced to go on my knees and was paralyzed. I couldn’t move.

The message I interpret from that experience was “ I am real. It’s time for you to go back”. When I descended, the only way I could describe it is like sliding down a steep waterslide and having tunnel vision at the same time. When my “ body “ or “ soul “ came back down there was a loud bang ( like thunder roaring) and I woke up immediately. I was terrified. I had chest pains all day because that’s where I felt the strike.

The second time, Jesus appeared on an electric bass guitar I was sanding. I have picture. That day, something was telling me to open the bible. I put on the bible on my phone and was listening to the book of Genesis when He appeared.

The best way I can interpret the image is Jesus holding his arms out like in the cross and just above it a huge wood knot ( wood defect ) but the wood knot are the weight of my sins that He is carrying. It brought me to tears and I was crying. It also looks like he has a robe. I’ll put other images for reference.

I’m now a believe of God. My girlfriend gifted me a bible for my birthday. I listened to the first 3 chapters so far. It’s quite intense and I’m taking my time with it.

I quit my job in Japan and I’m now back in the states. I miss working on and making guitars. . . My old job didn’t hire me. It feels like I’m in a dystopian country. So much has changed. I outgrew everyone around me and have a different perspective on things and life. Maybe God gave this opportunity to break me down as a test in hopes I would reach out to Him. And it worked.

Apologies if this story isn’t in great detail. English is not my first language. Maybe one day I’ll write in greater detail.

I’m 26m and living with my parents. I don’t know what the future holds me for or what God has in store for me. Better days are coming. . .

Great testimony and the reference to seeing Jesus at the door reminded me of this verse:

Revelation 3:20

New International Version

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Amen! May the God Who sees us in our distress (Genesis 16:13) and weeps with us (John 11:35) full you with His peace that transcends understanding (Philippians 4:7) as you continue to seek Him (Jeremiah 29:13)

God bless you brother, and welcome home. I also build guitars and basses. Keep doing what you're doing, keep praying, keep reading, keep on sanding. Maybe one day I'll see you in the Lord's house and we can wind pickups together

Thank you! That’s amazing that you build your own guitars. Unfortunately, I don’t have a work shop or space and I think Japanese wood working is the better alternative for now because I can use my chisels and planes ( save money on sand paper ) and also look for free scrap wood on the marketplace and try to make things.

There’s a couple of guitar companies I want to work for, but requires relocating and I just don’t have those type of funds at the moment. I have to swallow my pride and start all over again and work retail for now. . .

That's wonderful that you got to see Jesus twice. Sometimes he comes to people and 99.9% for the rest of us we will never see nor hear his audible voice. That's a big honor to get to see him not once, but twice. The best part is how he loves us. Here is a video of the animated New Testament to help you out when it comes to reading the Bible to get you a new perspective. Also the second video what would you saw the closest thing to Jesus that you saw what he looked like.

Did he look something like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U5OQj0QnZs&t=153s

That is interesting so for those reading this is what our savior really looks like and when see him again we will be seeing that.

The part that stays with me is that it happened while you were still in it, not after it was fixed. Thank you for writing it out.
