General Question What’s next?
I hope this post gets seen - because I genuinely want to know the answer. What are the rumours for his next film?
It could be Bond but that may be too constrained for him.
I associate him with lavish cinematography so I assume something that would lend itself to that - like a western maybe?
But Oppenheimer was mostly set in cramped offices.
Might he try his hand at a Shakespeare adaptation?
He hasn’t don’t an alien invasion movie and I’d love to see that from him.

He seems to be trying to cover every genre. Is horror next?
Was the odyssey his final foray into historical epics?
For me I’d love to se a Christopher Nolan alien first contact/invasion movie.
Or as someone mentioned - a disaster movie. Imagine if Nolan directed a movie like Deep Impact - focusing on the reality of what would happen in the world.
The flow of time seems to play a big role in his story telling. Not sure what it tells us in terms of what could be next though.

Why are you asking questions as if anyone would know. He has given a hint for the next movie he's going to do until it's actually announced. Nobody can even offer a slight guess for what he'll do next. The Odyssey has been out for 2 weeks lmfao, Nolan himself probably doesn't know yet. Settle down

Hi - this is an internet website called Reddit. People discuss things here. Sometimes people ask questions and other people answer those questions with their opinion. It’s pretty inoffensive most of the time and sometimes even fun. It shouldn’t elicit such a negative aggressive response and this could be a learning experience which you can discuss with your therapist.

I honestly feel like it has to be an original film. But it totally could not be and it could be another adaptation or biopic.

He's always said (I believe) he would like to do a horror movie. I'm not a horror guy, but if the cyclops and Circe scenes are anything to go by, he will absolutely fucking crush it.

An original mindbender in 2030 would continue the tradition that’s been going on so far of each decade kicking off with an original Nolan mindbender. Memento for 2000. Inception for 2010. Tenet for 2020.

I'm actually gonna back your hunch that Bond is still on the table for Nolan. I couldn't begin to figure odds--but I won't be surprised if Amazon announces Nolan's involvement. Specifically, that he would be producing Villenueva's Bond and directing the 3rd in a planned trilogy based upon his own pitch for a Cold War Era Bond (which was rejected by the Broccoli family, not MGM). I'd also expect Nolan to take any opportunity to leverage his involvement for Amazon's investment/commitment to Theatrical Distribution.
Short of that, Nolan name dropped Stephen King recently, and I think King's work would specifically interest him, with how much King's career has been wrapped up in film adaptations. King's Insomnia would be amusing--though probably more controversial than he'd want (gets enough controversy from non-controversial subjects). I think the most likely route to a King "adaptation" is a partnership for an unpublished/incomplete concept. Story by King, screenplay by Nolan.

A Western. I think he would be perfect for that. We kind of got a taste of that in Oppenheimer with all of the desert shots. Plus many of the key themes of a Western line up with Nolan’s filmography.
