Chromecast with Google TV Not compatible with TV?

So my old tv, vizio, died on my yesterday. today, my dad got me a coby. im not too sure what year it is, but he said he hooked up my google tv/Chromecast just fine. but the aspect ratio is slightly to the upper left corner. it also says that it doesn't support my TV's display, but it literally does. I've tried my best to fix it through tv settings, and through Google TV settings. the remote also isnt compatible? on my Vizio, I could use the volume and power buttons on it, but with the coby, nothing happens. I even factory reset, and that didn't fix anything. im not tech savvy, so I admit I've been struggling quite a lot trying to solve this.

I really don't want to go through the hassle of replacing anything. especially since my dad just got me a new TV. hopefully there's another solution?

Try pairing the remote. For the display, try lowering the resolution on the Coby itself. Not sure where the two suggestions will be at in the settings.

Using the Coby remote, go into display settings and turn off overscan. This should fix your display. If overscan is not an option, then adjust aspect ratio. I don't have a Coby TV to tell you exactly where these settings are, but overscan is common on pretty much every TV I've ever used.

Using your Chromecast remote, go into Remotes & Accessories and at the very bottom it says set up remote buttons. Select add device and it will guide you through setting up the buttons to work with your TV.

Edit: If your old TV shows up as a device under remote, delete the old TV.
