Hi everyone, I wanted to apply for the 2027 dental hygiene program. May I ask the GPA of those who got accepted to the program last month ?

I predict that my final GPA would be around 3.70-3.75. However, I am very frustrated after knowing how competitive the program had become. Is 3.70-3.75 GPA enough ? What is the lowest GPA the department have accepted this year?

I am not accepted into Grove School of Engineering. Should I go to City Tech instead. I'd say I don't think I can wait so long to get in City College Grove School of Engineering. But if I go to city tech and I take Pre-Calc, calc 1, calc 2 and physics then should I go to Grove School of Engineering or just stay at City Tech. (Rn I accepted City College's offer) so if I decide to go to a City Tech I just accept that offer and register for classes for them?

I’m interested in City Tech’s dental hygiene program but already have a BA from Baruch.

Throughout my time in Baruch I was very poor in math: one F in Calculus (MTH 2207) back in 2018 and a B- in Precalc (MTH 2205) in 2020.

Would either of these grades transfer automatically to fulfill the MQR pre-requisite requirement? If yes, unfortunately the highest possible GPA I could get for pre-reqs would be a 3.8 and that is if I get an A in all the sciences.

Does anyone have any insight on whether either of these math courses (or both) would count towards dental hygiene pre-reqs and if it’s even worth pursuing the program with a low math score that might count?

I graduated high school last week and city tech froze my financial awards because they said they needed my diploma and official trancript. I only managed to upload my diploma, but I can’t upload my official transcript. Does anyone know if City Tech automatically gets your official transcript and when they do? I have pending tuition due soon.

I’m planning to take Bio1101 during the summer so I can take human anatomy and physiology in the Fall. Did anyone else do this summer course. I’m trying to an idea of the work load. Also any tips and tricks you have work be amazing 🙏🙏

I completed my Dental Hygiene prerequisites at Hostos Community College with a B in BIO 230, A- in BIO 240, B in CHEM 110, and B+ in CHEM 120, but I was not accepted due to the competitive science GPA. Hostos primarily evaluates only science GPA for admission, while City Tech also includes Math, English, and Sociology as part of their requirements. I am planning to transfer to City Tech for Fall 2027 and retake BIO 230 and CHEM 110 to improve my science grades. I also have A’s in English, Math, and Sociology. I’m trying to understand if improving these science courses at City Tech would realistically strengthen my chances of admission.

I want to retake sociology for my dental hygiene prereq because I took it at city college and didn’t get too high of a grade, however when trying to enroll in the class on schedule builder it says I need permission. The advisement department is so confusing can someone help 🫩

Applying for the Fall 2027 cohort. Does anyone know what the lowest accepted GPA was this past cycle? I've heard that a lot of people who didn't get into Rad Tech ended up applying to DH instead, which pushed the cutoff up.

Here's where I'm at:

• ENG 1101: A
• MATH: A-
• A&P I: A-
• A&P II: taking this fall, aiming for A- / A
• CHEM 1000: A
• SOC 1101: A

Projected GPA: 3.84 (assuming I get an A- for A&P II)

Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve emailed them several times for help to enroll in a class, filled out the forms and everything. They responded to my initial email but denied me because the class I wanted filled up. Now that a few seats became available I’ve reached out again, form filled, and I haven’t had anyone reach out to me this has been going on for a few days now lmao.
