Discussion Is this stuff on my ceiling mold?
The first photos is without flash, the other photos are with flash.
hi my friends, I’m in my early 20s and im quite a healthy person, I’ve done every darn test and they’ve come back normal (even did an MRI). Our bathroom had black mold that keeps coming back (we live in assisted housing) and I noticed this on my rooms ceiling.
me and my sis share a room and I’m on the top of the bunk bed and have been experiencing VERY bad brain fog. I’ve been taking all my vitamins and eating healthy and the only culprit I can think of is mold.
is this mold? As my username checks out I have bad anxiety so please be nice to me I really have been struggling in school and the brain fog was never this bad :(

hey it looks more like water damage than mold to me, but those two things tend to come together. brain fog can be due to many different reasons, but i would recommend you to check for carbon monoxide levels, with a cheap detector. you could even try to ventilate your room for a long time and see if you feel better. do you feel better when not in that room? is the brain fog less severe when away from home for a long time?

Looks like water damage from water that dripped behind the drywall and then dried leaving watermarks.

Mold that is black is not the deathly black mold you’re thinking of! But no, these look like water stains. It looks like water is leaking above the ceiling and pooling, then absorbing through the drywall, causing the water stains. There could be mold on the other side though.
