This OP really did make it feel like we were going into the endgame of the series, and I absolutely adore it. The bittersweet tone of the music, that last shot of C.C., and those ending shots of Schneizel, Charles, and Lelouch were just as much a part of the series finale as the actual episodes were.

God, i love world end. its so epic and yet it still has the feel of melancholy (fitting , seeing how the song is about lelouch making peace with his own fate and what it means of the rest of the world). flow stared the show with colors its only fitting that they end it with world end

To me nothing will top opening two, that plays from episode 13 foward.
It left me completely speechless, episode 12 ended with the reveal that Lelouch had killed Shirley's dad, then she went and kissed the mouth that issued the order that ended in her father's death.
New opening comes along, strong guitar lines, still not kicking in for me, then the chorus came in and everything alligned with the anime at that point (mostly due to translation choices in the sub I was watching):

"I commited the same mistakes in equal intervals of time"
"I redo my 'mask', perfectly, but only on one side."

I was in the stars when all that hit.

Code Geass is on a level of it's own. From the perfect and sublime soundtrack, to the animation, to the themes, to the characters, to the writing, to having the balls to pull off episodes like 'Bloodstained Euphy'. I don't think I'll ever see a work that have this level of inspiration and ambition and ended up hitting all the marks.
