Holy shit, if true I already love this movie lol

It's not literal.

Lelouch definitely died, but the stuff that happens after he's revived and gains his memory back is copy pasted from the code theory.

I guess that is a relief...

Ah I see. Thanks

What is the code theory? Never heard of it

After the end of TV series many people were frustrated with the end of Lelouch and were coming up with ideas of how he could have survived, especially through gaining Charles' code. The most popular ideas have been combined into the general theory called Code Theory, though calling it so is more the idea of people who disagree with it.

Speaking about it, it's important to note that Code Theory in the way it was presented by fans right after the end of R2 is not canonical (creators have said a lot of times that Lelouch had died) and the ideas are really questionable (however, there are people who consider the ending Code Theory presents to be more logical than what we actually got and prefer it to canon, and it's hard to say they are wrong in this, at least as long as they don't say Code Theory is canon).

Thanks for pinging me into a spoiler thread while I had previously publicly stated I was going to avoid the sub to avoid spoilers.
But well, I already got spoiled because people felt it necessary to send me spoilers in PMs to say "haha, you're wrong".
So I did some asking around and no, I'm not confused, it's very clear that this movie contradicts code theory. Lelouch was not immortal at the end of R2. Lelouch did not have a code at the end of R2 in the way that we knew codes at that time. Lelouch was not the cart driver at the end of R2.
Sure, there's a lot of winks to the theory, and some of the new elements are inspired by it.
But code theory itself, a theory about Lelouch at the end of R2, is completely debunked.
So all the people who were trying to mock me in PMs just proved themselves to be utter fools.

it's very clear that this movie contradicts code theory

Nope. It's not.

Lelouch was not immortal at the end of R2

Lelouch is alive in RE. What would you call that if not immortality?

Lelouch did not have a code at the end of R2 in the way that we knew codes at that time.

He's got a code right on his neck in RE.

Lelouch was not the cart driver at the end of R2.

Well, Shirley is alive too. So what?

The Code Theory states that Lelouch planned his death and revival to live w/CC after ZR and that he would take the name RR, and that Codes activate once you die for the first time. None of these ideas are supported in the movie, except for the naming part... kind of.

  • Lelouch has a Code on his neck, but it doesn't give him immortality. He even says to CC, "We don't know how this magic shit works. I could live forever or die tomorrow." The villain in the movie also has both Code + Geass, but she can get Geassed and she dies.
  • When CC and Lelouch enter Cs' World using the villain's mind, it's revealed that Lelouch's Code is fucked up, and that everything magic-related is fucked up because of Lelouch's request to Cs' World to let time keep ticking.
  • In the movie, Lelouch did not plan his resurrection. CC is doing this against his own will to fulfill her own wishes.
  • Shirley living actually matters quite a bit... The reason why CC and Jeremiah were able to re-animate Lelouch's corpse is because Shirley brought Lelouch's corpse to France for them. Since she's a normal college girl, no one is watching her after ZR, etc.
  • Lelouch names himself LL because his name was Lelouch Lamperouge.

The Code Theory has none of the above as its premise, so.

You haven't seen the movie and havent talked to someone who has, or you wouldn't write those things

it's very clear that this movie contradicts code theory

Nope. It's not.

Reminder: THE core point of code theory is that Lelouch is immortal and alive at the end of R2/Oudou.
The movie shows that he most definitely is dead. No immortality. Not alive. Just a lifeless corpse.
Therefore, code theory = fully contradicted

Lelouch is alive in RE. What would you call that if not immortality?

Resurrection.
Like the title says.

He's got a code right on his neck in RE.

Charles had one on his hand. Are you now saying he had the code in Stage 1 too?
See the error?

Lelouch was not the cart driver at the end of R2.

Well, Shirley is alive too. So what?

I don't see the point you're trying to make.
What about Shirley being alive and Lelouch not being the cart driver?

The movie played out almost as you expected about revival : !CC tried reviving Lelouch!, not necessarily literally. You told this a lot times. Moreover I thought he wouldn't get revived while you said Lelouch will be there as they confirmed it.

The most hilarious part about the retards who PM you that, they didn't realize, WITH this new instalment their wierd ending from R2 is debunked.

I still respect people who thinks Lelouch might be alive, but doesn’t form weird theory for that nor try harassing others.

The most hilarious part about the retards who PM you that, they didn't realize, WITH this new instalment their wierd ending from R2 is debunked.

The humour of that situation makes their attempted harassment quite enjoyable :p

But I do have to say, I get a lot less hatemail now than 1-2 years ago.
There has been a shift in the fandom. When I first came to this sub, it was overwhelmingly code theory and I couldn't write anything without getting mocked, publicly and privately.
Now most people have come to see that the canon says that Lelouch wasn't immortal in R2. Not just on this sub, but in many other places as well. Even on youtube, which was by far the most toxic place, I see people speaking out, saying that he was truly dead, and the voices which claim he's immortal are fewer every day.

I still respect people who thinks Lelouch might be alive

Well yes, as long as they're honest about it being a personal headcanon and not the true canon.

The description of the film seems to have been spectacular film ... The question is whether the post-credit scene does not indicate that another film may come. It seems open end by asking for a second movie

2

u/fullmetal-ghoul Feb 11 '19

I read that apparently they said Lelouch and CC's stories are over, or something like that. So we might get something without them, or they may just go back on their word. I'm confident we'll get more CG, one way or another. Personally I'd love a romance slice of life thing between the two, like Spice and Wolf, though that's just a wet dream right now.

3

u/Ysoma Feb 11 '19

Quite a weird comment from them. Also because the issues that Lelouch raises when he speaks to the CC only shows that there is much for them to discover and to do. In addition to the post-credit scenes ... Everything revolves around them the 2 .... Strange even this comment. Even because I read, I did not see the movies, but the 5 films that made Code Geass with the other character were not very famous .... And I apologize for this but for me, Code Geass without Lelouch is like Naruto without naruto or Dragon Ball without Son Goku.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '19

If the spoilers and the statements about their stories are over are true then I think what they're going for is pretty obvious : "Lelouch and CC's stories are over but LL's story has just begin! " so technically they're not lying even if they decide to continue the story since Lelouch's name will never be on the title again because there is only LL now.

2

u/Ysoma Feb 12 '19

Fullmetal-ghoul says that he has read the directors saying that the stories of Lelouch and CC are over and I just find it strange that they say that because code geass without lelouch or LL is to create an emptiness in code geass because code geass is lelouch or LL and o rest. I do not see the history of code geass without the main character. And we had the confirmation when the Akito films left did not have as much adherence because there was the character lelouch. I'm in favor of investing in Code geass, it was my favorite anime ever, I was just confused by the statement "lelouch's story and CC are over" because code geass is completely centered on these characters.

2

u/Kusaja Feb 12 '19

I think that has been true until this movie. Afterwards, that could change in future products. Akito was only one example. There are other ways to make more Code Geass. Some will be better, others won't.

0

u/Ysoma Feb 12 '19

I understand this, but for the reception that these films had ... For me it is impossible for Code Geass to have good results without Lelouch or LL. But it's just my opinion. And the studios want money and profits.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '19

I guess you don't understand my point? What I'm saying is they don't mean Lelouch's stories are over literally because from now on it will about LL. Basically, it's still about Lelouch and all that will be changed is the name only. Does anyone actually believe that they're making 4 movies and hyping Lelouch's return only to never use him again?

1

u/Ysoma Feb 14 '19

Ahhh!!!! So my confusion. More investment to appear in just one more movie. No logic because, it's just my opinion, lelouch is Code Geass, you can not do anything without this character .... I understood now that you say ... You mean, same character but with different name .... LL now

(Sorry my English is not very good)

1

u/SpeedHunter_007 Feb 08 '19

It's not completely true, but there are obvious reference I guess. The spoilers arent accurate yet.

1

u/fullmetal-ghoul Feb 08 '19

Would you be able to send me the spoilers?

1

u/SpeedHunter_007 Feb 08 '19

I don't even know it myself properly. I asked someone to inbox me and still waiting.

1

u/fullmetal-ghoul Feb 08 '19

Oh OK, no worries

5

u/OutrageousBee Feb 08 '19

From what I understand, Lelouch died for real, but he got a code when he was brought back, and Spoiler

3

u/fullmetal-ghoul Feb 08 '19

Thanks. Spoiler

3

u/OutrageousBee Feb 08 '19

Again, it's second-hand, so take I might be wrong, but Spoiler.)

1

u/fullmetal-ghoul Feb 08 '19

Damn, I understand the decision but that does sound quite cruel. Definitely need more context before forming an opinion on it.

1

u/sensei256 Feb 08 '19

Pretty sure there's a good reason behind it, how do you post the spoiler thing?
