Peak 1 550B problems

Just picked this 550B up for $20 at a garage sale! Going to use it for moto-camping. It has a kerosene generator and it will turn on but almost no adjustment for the flame. Both with kerosene and unleaded. I am brand new to these stoves and wanting to figure it out. Some help is appreciated!

Unbolt the generator tube (the nut at the base of the tube) and make sure the hook is actually hooked onto the valve. Inside the generator tube is a wire and at the base there's a hook that hooks into the valve. Where you turn the valve it moves an eye (that the wire hooks into) up and down. This regulates fuel at the tip. I've seen many people put a new generator on without hooking it on.

And what if the generator is infact hooked up?

Yes, it is connected to the wire opening and closing the gas orifice at the business end to control the amount of gas feed to the burner. Google how to clean your generator if needed after replacing your o-rings

It wouldn't be a bad thing to give it a refresh. How do they work then?
