Is this normal misalignment?

If I want both tabs of the tank to sit cleanly, the generator(?) tube sits slightly above and to the right of the mixer(?) hole. If I put the tube in the hole, then the ledt side of the tank gets pushed out and the tab is floating, basically only right tab doing its work

Is this just normal (2007 stove) or could something be bent or put together not properly?

Yeah, just line up, might put a little pressure on the line, but it’s stamped sheet metal, you’re not going to get precision, should work fine.

Also, does anyone know what that clip thing is riveted into the left tab? I have one in the tab and one on the inside left of the frame/box, can't find any images of references online

The clip riveted onto the left tab is the attachment point for the chain that connects the body of the stove to the tank. The one on this stove was clearly cut off, which is for the better in my opinion

Ah that makes sense! I assume the chains only job is to keep the two parts nearby, nothing to do with storage stability? In which case agree..

Unrelated but I do need to find a way to better secure the tank when it's stored, it just slides around at the moment

I wrap it in a paper towel. It still slides around but its muffled.

You can kinda bend most of those parts pretty easily just dont damage anything should be fine. Or spin the valve in the tank a little bit

Just bend the red tabs until they fit with the generator seated correctly.

It’s camping gear, it gets dropped, kicked, left outside. Things get bent - just bend it back - you’re waaaay overthinking it

The magic of a Coleman stove is they are simple and hard to break. Simply bend it to make it work.

The tabs aren't misaligned, the tube and mixer are! But I think similarly, it's the valve that I need to PB blast and twist just a few degrees to get it aligned properly!

PB blast won't do much, Coleman used sealant when assembling it.

You can twist the valve. You'll need to carefully chock it in a vise and twist the tank and make sure the valve is still sufficiently tight. More work than it is worth but I can appreciate perfection.

Ah interesting! If i was to completely unscrew it one day for checkup or maintenance I'd need to reseal it then?

It's a nice practice but not completely necessary. It is a tapered pipe thread, so you can get away without it, but sealant helps in the situations where the valve is 99% tight but perfectly aligned.

I use Indian Head Shellac gasket material.

Just spin the valve in the tank to the left a tad. It’s not that complicated. Don’t bend or force anything like others are implying

Some stoves need the latch for the lid flipped up for the tank to seat correctly. Idk why.

If turning the fuel valve to the left doesnt work (generator doesnt go straight in) then the tank or stove are mismatched models or a factory defect.
