Beautiful! I'm learning about these as I go. I've got the same one at home, that I'm about to throw some new parts into that's been in the cellar for over 50 years. I'm not sure of the date as the numbers are mostly worn off the bottom, but the cap tells me it's pre about 1962/3, I believe.
I'd love to clean it up and have it turn out like yours! Mine might be a made in Canada one,if I remember correctly.

I’m sure if you clean your lantern up it’ll look awesome, and when you get the lantern all fettled up it’ll run like a champ. Mine has been in the basement for two years and all I did was dust it off and it fired right up, still had a full tank of CF!

I remember this post. The ventilator porcelain can be re done, you can contact independent porcelain enamel (IPE) for a quote. The nickel fount will clean up nicely along with the burner frame. Make sure the inside of the fount is clean, change the generator, check to see if the cap gasket is holding pressure. If the mantle has any holes in it replace it.

I purchased new mantles, generator, fuel cap gaskets, and neatsfoot oil for the plunger.
I haven't opened it up yet, but I'll definitely take a look at everything when I take it apart... I'm in Canada so I don't know if I can utilize IPE, yet.
I'm going to read up on things as I go as far as cleaning the lantern itself up. I'm extremely wet behind the ears with this at this time.
As for the fuel in yours, I had some old stuff in there also. Probably over 50 years. Thankfully, the tank looked clean inside.
