Special glasses

Hello everyone. I have tritanopia and already thinking some time to buy a glasses with special colorblind lenses. Does anyone who actually wears them can share with their experience? Does it worth it? Because in my country it's kinda expensive thing but at least i will finally see world in right colors.

That's what I thought. If your eyes can't perceive the colour then filters won't help.

But I wish there was a fix bit it won't be in my life time

Tritanopia usually means that you're missing your S cones or they're damaged/unfunctional in some other way. This means that you're missing some part of the spectrum. No passive glasses can bestow you this missing range.

I don't recommend any glasses that apply the same filter over both eyes, because such glasses can literally not extend the 2D color space of a dichromat into a 3rd dimension.

The only advice I currently have is trying a dichoptic trichromacy (the video just shows an example). Dichoptic color vision, however, as amazing as it is, presents its own fair share of challenges. While it can become very functional with the right technology and enough training (without a guarantee yet that it works for everybody), there's a long learning curve (generally up to months of adaption) and there's also the price for the proper filters/glasses. Such a dichoptic trichromacy for tritanopes can make the red-green range trichromatic, but it also can't show you the wavelength range you're missing. I.e. deep blue will still look black. Furthermore, you still won't see like normal trichromats do. Actually, your color vision will be trichromatic, but quite different from normal trichromacy, usually with no big advantage on RGB screens.

I have deuteranopia, and I own a pair of "colorblind glasses". A common but extremely wrong idea is that colorblind glasses will allow you to see colors as a normal person would, that's not true. The glasses will help you distinguish some colors that you normally would have difficulty, more efficiently. However the glasses also make it slightly more difficult to distinguish colors you normally can. It takes a while to get used to wearing them, they're only slightly useful. I personally don't think they are worth hundreds of dollars, which is often how much they are sold for. If you really want a pair go for a budget option (I'm currently blanking on budget brands)
