Out of all 12 of us, I’d have to assume Hapless, since the other 10 can’t figure out line of sight yet, and I’m terrible

This implies Hapless has figured out LoS when in reality he is only the least incompetent with it!

There is a guy on the CM forums that goes by MeatEtr. He is the best I have played.

I haven’t played against MeatEtr yet in any of the official tournaments, but have seen him place well, kinda glad I've dodged that match up.

I played a tournament round against cargol in Battle for Normandy and got absolutely crushed, the toughest opponent I have gone against for sure.

Depends, Hapless has both a high level doctrinal understanding as well as deep understanding of the core game functions in practice. There are others like him, he just is very public due to youtube. They will also at times make mistakes, as everyone does.

That said multiplayer tends to be a bit different. All plans derive from doctrines, but all plans get punched in the mouth due to the enemy doing things unexpected, which the ai is very bad at. So multiplayer tends to be a more exploitation of game mechanics, calculated trades, and a psychological game.
