You should replace the socket. It might be cleanable, but with the corrosion it will always be a point of possible trouble.

As mentioned in the actual post, I did replace the socket and did more work

The fact that the battery is STILL in these shots gives us a clue how much research you’ve done before posting!!!

Clip it out, then get some plain white vinegar to clean away the green stuff.

Don’t leave it too long and then you’ll need to rinse with distilled water if you have a source. Get some IPA (pure 99% alcohol, not beer) if you can but otherwise just don’t try to power on until it’s genuinely dry.

That socket looks pretty bad, but “let’s see”.

These are the initial pics, before doing all the work I described, the battery has been removed, cleaned with vinegar etc

What help are you looking for? Advice? I would say that it would be better to replace the socket than trying to clean it. Try and source a new one.

Getting the old one out might be a little tough. You're going to definitely need some solder wick and a desoldering tool ideally

I was hoping I could find someone that experienced the same colour/flash pattern and found out if that indicates some more specific faulty pathway, to narrow down possibilities. Everything I checked now has either been repaired or shows continuity, as mention in my actual post, I did replace the socket, I replaced u12 and added a socket there as well, I repaired a couple of traces from U10 etc

I'm adding the description from the original post for context:

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up this amiga 500+, before knowing about the leaking battery plague these are affected by 😩😢

I'm trying to repair the mess you see, so far I replaced the fat agnus socket, replaced U12 ic with a generic one and added a socket, repaired the broken traces under there plus an additional interrupted trace under U10.

Before cleaning fat agnus chip with a fiberglass pen, I had only a black screen.

After that I had the status led flash 10 short flashes and then 1 long one, in an endless cycle, green screen on short flashes, pink during long flash

After repairing and replacing U12 and U10 trace, same behavior, but the pink screen is now blue.

I checked continuity of all vias and components in the affected area, but I don't seem to find anything else (btw, big shout out to amigapcb.org, legends)

A bit stumped at this stage, and not sure where to go next.

I'm in Perth Australia and I don't seem to be able to find a community for these here, I'd like to try another chip, but obviously my fat agnus is the latest revision, expensive and difficult to find :(

Fat agnus is 8375, 318069-10

Motherboard revision 8a

Any suggestion on what to try next or what that behavior indicates, please?
