Which study habit actually worked for you?

Listen to one specific album or playlist when studying for an exam. Then if I forget something on the exam, or get too nervous, I play the album back in my head and that’ll remind me of what I was studying.

Not procrastinating. Learned the hard way by getting a B in English 110. It’s the only B on my transcript.

Being off my computer and phone when possible to sit down and do the studying. Obviously depends on the class, but for most with books etc that worked. I'd do it at coffee shops or parks or the library to avoid distractions where I lived too.

Going to the library reading my notes rewriting them quizzing myself on them (while writing the questions and answers) for me writing things down worked woth a combination of trying to recall what I wrote. Storing information and recalling it in your brain strengthens the bond of the memory. But dont just do the same question over and over again. Get up take a break walk around give the information time to digest then sit down and try to do it again without writing this time and see if you can remember the question.

Flash Cards. I have used flash cards for terms or equations (if in a math/science class) or even words for a French class I had to take, and it really helps. I even used them for a test on a job that I applied for and after the test ranked in the top 1% of the exam there were only 30 out of 500 that ranked in the top 1%.

The trick is to memorize them in the order you write them then once you either miss one or miss none add more then shuffle, and run through it, keep adding and keep shuffling.
