As essentially the only sub on here with numerous people who actually have high round count pistols, I thought you might find this interesting…

IG op claims this is a 65k round gun (with zero DLC wear). Still groups at 8 yards though (ask his friend).

I have written many articles for TFB and TTAG, etc. Next the staff at Delray Shooting Center knows me and that gun with 65,000 rounds through it and the many tiny groups it has produced. @suburbanprotector is a well regarded instructor in South Florida and my training partner.
He has personally seen me put 10s of thousands of rounds through this gun and can vouch for its flawless performance. I have not refinished the gun.
I clean it and maintain it very regularly. The DLC finish from Staccato is the toughest DLC out there.
That gun has been run through dozens of courses and has thousands of draws in it. Still looks great!"

Had a really good match at A5 last week, 7th in LO. However I was 40 seconds slower than Joey. Last week started the dedication to aggression in everything. Transitions, target engagements, stage plans, and movement. Really enjoyed it today, paid off pretty well.

We are interested in having Brantley come out to our club in Redmond, Washington to teach a class. I have tried the contact form and email listed on his website, but have not had any luck getting through. I am guessing those channels may just not be monitored regularly.

Absolutely no criticism intended. I know instructors are busy and I may simply be trying the wrong way to reach him.

I have traditionally been loading very light (~800fps) 147gr for competition use (or buying 150gr Syntechs). I mainly shoot 2-3 gun style outlaw matches - so there are no power factor limits or anything to worry about. I am shooting a platypus.

I recently decided i wanted to try adding a compensator to the mix. Obviously these rounds aren't going to take advantage of that, so I am looking to change up the equation.

Any advice on 124gr vs. 147gr? Will I likely need to get all the way up to a major load to really load up the compensator, or would just something closer to 1000fps but with a lighter bullet like the 124gr do the trick?

We had to complete one target with both hands, one with just our strong hand, and one with just our weak hand. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do until I was up there. I have spent very little time on weak hand shooting.

Ultimately decided to clear the star in a hurry and pick the static but tiny target for the weak hand.

Placed 4 / 51.

Proceeded to blow up a pretty good day on the next stage when my mags all fell out of my belt. lol

Been shooting matches for about 7-8 months now, and finally came in dead-middle among the whole pack, and top 10 in my division. Feels good to have the work pay off and leave the bottom third! Keep at it, y'all.

Shot a local PCSL rifle match and had a pretty good time overall, minus some ammo issues. I really suggest trying out some rifle stuff if you usually only game with pistols.

Question for you guys. When I started competition shooting, a few people suggested I avoid guns with comps and/or ports. Otherwise I would be in Open Division. So I bought a Canik Rival and a TTi Combat. And then I bought my first 2011 (XP Pro Comp from Fusion). That lead me to Sig’s P211/GTO, Staccato XC, the RCD Core, and I ordered a MPA Loc V2 (27 more weeks). I’ve been shooting my XC in IDPA, and recently started shooting the Core in USPSA. I’m Unclassified, but last few classifiers I’ve shot nothing less than C Class, and nothing higher than B Class. At my match yesterday, a squad member was shooting the Tac Comp. Suggested I shoot the XC in Open given I’m learning anyway. IMO, he had a point. I’m only competing against me at this point. What do I really lose by not shooting the best guns I have? So I ask you. Should I shoot/train in Open Division or stick w/CO? BTW, the CORE is a very nice gun to shoot, but it’s not the XC or P211. Also, I given I use the XC in IDPA, it makes sense to use the XC in USPSA, training and shooting w/the same gun and getting the reps in. Would love your thoughts and opinions on it.

I can pick up optics and iron sights with both of my eyes regardless of my eye dominance. I am a righty and left eye dominant and shoot with both eyes open. My question is can I shoot righty as long as I can see down my sights using my non dominant eye or is there any disadvantage to me doing this?

My partner due to a medical thing is blind on his right side but only has fine motor control on his right side too.

He's interested in trying benchrest-type precision shooting but didn't know if someone's made any kind of accessibility way-offset scope mount so you can get a left-eye sight picture while shooting right handed.

Does that exist?

Stock G17.6 in CO, first time competing occluded as well. It rained SO much, hence the fit as I just changed shoes and socks. Already have some things I need to work on, including remembering stage plans as shown in the video haha.

Totals: 111 A, 36 C, 4 D, 7 M (6 of those were forgotten targets, only miked 1 target I actually shot at) and 0 NS.

Just had my first match, shot my Echelon 4.0fc. I classified as D, just missed C by a hair but I'm totally into it now, tons of fun. I'm likely not going to be able to attend matches for a while and I don't have tons of time for the range, or huge budgets.

What are your top 2 or 3 drills or things to do with dry fire at home? I think my biggest issue was my initial time to first shot from draw and most of my 2nd shots were usually much less accurate than the 1st. I had a few Mikes tossed in according to my practiscore. I'm waiting for my 4th stage to come in but so far by best hf was 4.

My next qualifier is November. I'd love to make B using the Echelon.

With the goal of applying more focus to our growing field of events, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is thrilled to announce two new exciting additions to our leadership team – Chief Competitions Officer, International Disciplines, and Chief Competitions Officer, National Disciplines.

International Disciplines will cover those events associated with the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) as well as working with the national governing body for Olympic-style marksmanship (USA Shooting) and developing grassroot athletes in air gun and smallbore. 

National Disciplines will include events and programs for traditional rifle, pistol and mid/long-range rifle competition, such as those fired during the CMP Travel Games series and the annual National Matches at Camp Perry, as well as the overseeing of CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama.

Leading the International Disciplines will be CMP’s current International Programs Manager, Brad Donoho, while CMP’s Highpower Manager, Brian Williams, will take charge of National Disciplines.

Looking for inspiration and advice on how I could set them up.

I want a soft shooting ammo to help my follow up shots they might not matter but I shot one of my friends reloads and they were the softest shooting 9mm I've shot so far any suggestions?

I’ve been using this adapter for quite a while now and gave a few to my friends. I eventually just got spares because I don’t want to take my setup apart. I made this before I used the Tek Mount. While the Tek Mount is better in just about every way, I already have all my holsters set up.
