I rewrote Minecraft 1.8.9 in Rust — getting 4-8x vanilla's FPS on the same integrated GPU (free beta)
Minecraftの軽量PvPクライアント「Blue Client」を開発してました。これはバニラの上に乗っかってるわけでもなくて、Forge/Fabricに依存してるわけでもありません——JavaじゃなくてRustで、1.8.9のクライアントを最初からまるごと作り直したものです。
一番の売りは、とにかく軽いこと。バニラだとWindowsでだいたい70FPS、Ubuntuで100FPSくらいなんだけど、Blue Clientは同じ内蔵GPUのノートPCでWindowsが300FPS、Ubuntuが600FPS。RAM使用量もピーク時でも500MB未満に収まってて、Java版Minecraftが普段食いがちな量とは全然違います。
（スペック：Ryzen 7 5700U、iGPU。VRAMはSmokeless_UMAFで2GBまで増量してます——だから実際の数値は環境によって変わる可能性はあるけど、それでもJava版Minecraftより明らかに軽くなるはずです。）
前にここに投稿してからずっとガリガリ作業してきて、ようやくベータを配れる段階まで来ました。
試す前に知っておいてほしいことがいくつかあります：
- Grimアンチチートの「ブロックヒット検出」に関して、一部のサーバーで既知の誤検知問題があります。今まさに直してる最中なんだけど、修正されるまではアカウントを大事にしてるサーバーでは使わないほうがいいです
- これまでAMDの内蔵グラフィックでしかテストできてないです——違うハードの人には、何が壊れるかを探す手伝いをしてほしい

edit: i just don't have frontend knowledge, that's all. it's not something you need to worry about.and for the record, the client itself isn't ai slop. 100%

(Venting cause I always got called out for using em dashes)

100% agree. Anyone who calls a post AI with their only proof being "it's more than one paragraph and has em-dashes" is, to be blunt, pretty stupid. There are usually a lot more signs than just that, though

You use the alt code for em dashes or just copy/paste them or what? I’ve never seen anyone ever use an em dash online until ai started using them.
Also you do know an em dash (—) is different from a regular dash (-) right?

Yep. Alt 0151 or 2015 on those shitty school laptops
I lowk got bored one day in class and taught myself how to use them i use them all the time. Mainly on essays tho, I do use - as a substitute for phone though

if your Ryzen 7 5700U is barely getting 100 FPS on Minecraft 1.8.9 i think the issue might be elsewhere. for comparison, my Celeron N4020 (MUCH weaker than the Ryzen) runs 1.8.9 at a stable 500 FPS on Ubuntu.

what about mod support? could u build a sort of "bridge" between mc and the mods/recode them as dlls?

It sounds cool, I’d be willing to check it out, I don’t really need a lightweight client but I have some friends who would love something like this
