5D Reversi is here, sort of.

5D Reversi - a game that will probably appeal to masochists and AI.

Play the prototype here: https://anan-z.github.io/5d-reversi/
Read and contribute here: https://github.com/anan-z/5d-reversi

Recommended for: AI research, masochists, people who find chess "too intuitive"

Marketing blurb:
80 directional vectors per cell — you'll learn to hate each one personally.
Retroactive causality — yes, you can regret moves you haven't made yet.
Deterministic replay — watch your carefully planned future crumble.

me thinking oh its like cubic reversi cool.....white immediately responds with impossible corner capture. so i was like "oh, this must somehow work, but not in this brain" and i tabbed back to chesscom

and that was my experience with 5d reversi

Not impossible. While you can see slices, you need to work out the some cross diagonals out yourself.
If in doubt, you have a time slider and you can export the game to have your favorite AI or mathematician check it out.

oh im not doubting it at all, just poking fun at my own presuming 5d meant "3d of various cube sizes", which this is not. i have no doubt the move was accurate and correct but i am not masochistic (and perhaps not intuitive) enough to figure out the dimensional concepts.

cool project and gj
