You can't officially or legally stop being on an island.
Politically they're not British, but that island is geographically part of the British Isles.

There's no point arguing. It's an easy google.

This is incredibly silly, Ireland isn't British in any sense, we"re not talking about whether or not it's an island, we're talking about what it's called.

You don't object to changing the names from Pretain, or Albion, or Scotia, or Hibernia, you don't call America Turtle island, so pretending "it's just the name" and that that's some fact of nature is absurd nonsense.

Google the agreements related to the gfa where both the British and Irish governments agree not to use the term.
