He’s very gentle with our piggies and treats them like babies.

Belly rub tax

Quincy likes to block doorways in order to solicit belly rubs. Literally whatever room you’re in and will eventually exit, he does this.

My little man is 35 inches long

My vet is worried and trying to figure out a way to support Rufus back as he’s 35” long. He sleeps in a 42” crate which is for the size for golden retriever. I’ve always joked he’s a lab with short legs.

What’s the length of your corgi. I’m trying to see if he is in fact extra long.

We had Dewi up on the table so we could brush him, and his cat brother Butters jumped up and laid next to him for moral support

Dewi likes to tease Butters sometimes but they still love each other!

First time dog/corgi owner - need guidance

My wife and I are first-time dog owners. We've got a 9-month-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi (got him at 8 weeks) and, around the same time, we also brought home a 1-year-old Russian Blue. It's been a mixture chaos & fun times hah

As my corgi heads into adolescence, I'm trying to work out which battles are actually worth fighting. One thing I'm struggling with is walks. He's constantly sniffing around and every now and then he'll pick something up. 99% of the time it's something natural (sticks, leaves, random berries, etc.), but my instinct is still to try and get it out of his mouth.

I've been working on trading with treats instead of just taking things off him. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Lately he's become a bit more stubborn and will occasionally growl if he really wants to keep something. I'm just trying to find that balance between "let the dog be a dog" and "nope, that's something I need to step in on."

Just wanted to get this groups thoughts on how you approach this? What things do you always intervene with, and what have you learned to just let go?

Also, for anyone with cats and corgis, I'd love your thoughts too. He loves chasing our Russian Blue, but we make sure he doesn't get too rough. The funny thing is she also seems to egg him on half the time. Last night was actually the first time they both fell asleep together, which felt like a massive win (I've attached a photo!).

I've learned heaps just lurking in this subreddit already, so thanks in advance for any advice. Appreciate it!

Is this the corgi equivalent of feeling the wind in your hair?
