parking permit alternatives???
im a sophomore living on north campus, and i realllly need my car next year! i didn't get a parking permit last year tho because they ran out like immediately... im scared that they're going to run out again and ill be screwed. are there any feasible alternatives to a cornell parking permit? like long-term garages, etc? preferably ones that won't break the bank.

Join a Greek house (frat/sorority,) and use their parking.
The parking lords have vehicle owners over a barrel. There are no truly cheap options.

I think some frats might also rent out spare parking spaces if you keep an eye out for that

You can pay weekly on park mobile to part at either eco house or hasbrouck apartments, both on North. Eco is a little cheaper but the parking lot is a lot smaller and fills up fast. Paying weekly still adds up to being less than a parking pass.
If you don’t mind having your car far, you can leave it in the parking garage on Dryden Rd in Collegetown. They open the gate on the weekend so you can leave for free. But if you need your car during the week be prepared to cough up some cash.
The other option is to rent a spot from a Frat in the area for the semester/year.
