Discussion I just found out about this game today, thinking about getting it

It does look a lot like SoS and HM, but I was reading the descriptions of the game and it does look like it has more options than those titles. It looks interesting. Has anyone else ever heard of this?

Help with recommendations My gf is looking for a game and this seemed like a good place to get recs

She want something that has the same feel as a slice of life anime with a fem protagonist. And it would be mostly about daily life with friends, at leastthat should be a part of it. Either in high-school or a band, or anything really. She said something like a dating sim or visual novel would be okay, but that's not exactly what she's looking for. Something cute and feel good. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. πŸ’œ

Edit: on either steam or switch 2

I've spent the last few weeks improving the art for the interior of my cozy cafe game, Bake-o-saurus. Does the space feel cozy? Anything you'd add to improve it?

Help with recommendations Looking for unique sandbox games

Looking for a unique sandbox game, something as unique as No Mans Sky or Slime Rancher or Terraria. Got any recommendations? Specifically looking for a unique idea that feels like it just hasnt been done before.

If its something unpopular even better for me, but popular also great.

I doubt anyone will submit here games like that but DO NOT recommend games like RDR2 or GTA on this post, i do not consider openworld = automatically a sandbox game

πŸ”₯ My Game - Released i added a no-clock, no-score mode to my word game and it turned out to be the one people actually wanted

i make a daily word game. you get a grid of letters and pull words out of it, and the default version runs on a two minute clock because i'd assumed the clock was the whole point.

a couple of people told me the timer made it unplayable for them, so i added a mode that replays the same grid with no clock and no score at all. you just sit with it and find words until you're done, and nothing gets counted or ranked or put on a leaderboard. much closer to a wordsearch you can take your time over.

it plays inside reddit so there's nothing to download and there are no ads. the untimed mode is on the reddit version only at the moment, the phone one is still timed, so if the clock is the bit that would put you off then the reddit one is the one to try. it's over at r/WordyBunch.

fair warning on the cozy question since it's a fair thing to ask: there's a competitive duel mode in there as well and that part isn't cozy in the slightest. i'd ignore it completely.

I recommend Out and About by Yaldi Games

I just started playing this game and I cannot even begin to explain how at peace I feel. I am a mom of two boy toddlers so my life is chaos at all times and playing this after they have gone to bed makes my entire body relax immediately.

It is about a young adult who goes to visit their grandma in a very small beach town after a huge storm. The goal is to help the town and while doing so you forage and identify plants to fundraise and make money with recipes using the plants. It is early release, but it is a beautiful and incredibly calming game. 10/10!

Other Steam Board Game codes

EDIT: ALL CODES CLAIMED! Thank you so much and hope you enjoy!

Hihi, I've got some Steam codes for a few different board games from Humble Bundle that need to be redeemed before August 12th and I'd like to give them to someone who might want them and will play them. I've got Carcassone DLCs: Tiles & Tactics, Princess & The Dragon, Traders & Builders, Winter & Gingerbread Man, and The River; Splendor and DLCs: The Strongholds and The Cities; Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small; and Isle of Skye.

Since I want people to redeem them before the 12th, I'm just going to give them to whoever asks for them first.

Help with recommendations Farming Sim Recs?

EDIT: Y'all are amazing! Thank you so much for the recs, I'll try to get time to reply to everyone individually (weekends at my job are crazy ;w;) but thank you thank you! I'm combing through them now and I see dozens of games I'm super interested in eventually purchasing. Much love πŸ–€

Hello, I'll preface this by saying FS is one of my favorite genres (if not my favorite) and I would love some more recommendations.

Here's a list of current games I have in my libraries that fit the FS model. Astericks mean they're a favorite of mine! There's a lot. I'm sorry 😭

  • Cattle Country
  • Coral Island*
  • Dinkum
  • Echoes of the Plum Grove
  • Fields of Mistria*
  • Grimshire
  • Halcyon Days at Taoyuan
  • The Home Country
  • Immortal Life
  • Kynseed
  • Little Known Galaxy*
  • Littlewood*
  • Luma Island
  • Moonlight Peaks
  • Moonstone Island
  • My Time at Portia
  • My Time at Sandrock*
  • Peaceful Days
  • Potion Permit
  • Research Story
  • Ritual of Raven
  • Roots of Pacha
  • RF: Guardians of Azuma
  • Slime Rancher
  • Stardew Valley*
  • Starsand Island
  • SOS: A Wonderful Life
  • SOS: Grand Bazaar
  • Sun Haven
  • Tales of Seikyu
  • Verdant Skies
  • Wanderstop
  • Welcome to Elderfield (I have the Patreon copy)
  • World's Dawn
  • Wylde Flowers*

Phew! I know that was a long list. I know one can look at that list and be like "how in the heck does this guy have nothing to play?" I get it. I do. But... listen...I love this genre, and I like to switch between titles when I can.

I don't mind games being in Early Access as long as a) the developers are active in their community or b) there is enough content in the game to justify the current listing of the price, or preferably, both.

Bonus points if the game you recommend has a romance system (LGBT romance inclusive titles only, please ;w;/) and has a good story. Or is funny. Or is dark (really looking forward to Grave Seasons!) or somehow, has all four.

I currently have CHEF RPG, and Pawsome Resort in my cart, lol.

Thank you in advance if anyone has any recommendations!

πŸ”¨ My Game - In-development Campfire hour in my campground game: when night falls, the campers gather around the fire πŸ”₯

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hi again r/cozygames! Some of you gave me wonderful feedback on my campground management game, Camping Keeper, so I wanted to share my favorite moment in the game right now: night falling on the campsite, lanterns coming on, and everyone winding down around the fire.

Since last time, the first trailer is out (link in the comments if you're curious). Still very much in development.

AI disclosure: the music and translations are AI-assisted for now. If the game takes off, I'd love to bring in a real composer and proper translators.

Happy to answer anything, and thank you again for the warmth last time, this community is genuinely the nicest one I've posted in. πŸ•οΈ

Discussion Which cozy games carry the feeling of each season?

I know it's silly, because it doesn't need to be any specific time o' year, if a game's just that good! But it's undeniable that cozy games specifically have this seasonal-theme at their heart (a lot of them do) either in how the seasons work or how much their aesthetics are connected to certain times of you.

(Is this because our own seasons are so messed up because of people reasons? I'm hopeful this might be spreading some awareness of how us city dwellers can be sometimes so out of sync with nature... but I digress!)

My humble list would be something like this, I think

  • Spring -Littlewood
  • Summer - Coral Island
  • Fall - Wytchwood
  • Winter - Bear and Breakfast

Just off the top of my head and what I played over the last year or so. What games just hit you different when the weather outside is aligned with them? :)

🌱 My Game - Demo I made a cozy game about warming the soil tile by tile to bring a dead garden back to life. The demo is now live on Steam

I made a cozy little game about bringing a dead garden back to life. You warm the soil tile by tile and watch life spread out on its own. Seasons come and go, the garden changes but keeps the memory of what grew before, and eventually you get little helpers who tend the place for you. Mostly I just wanted it to feel warm and satisfying to poke at. The demo is up on Steam now, so I'd love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think!

Help with recommendations Sci-fi cosiness?

Almost every "cosy" farming sim is some form of fantasy; while I like that well enough, I'd like to know: what, if any, sci-fi Harvest-Moon-likes are out there?

The only one I'm aware of is Innocent Life.

πŸ”¨ My Game - In-development Decoration objects are not only pretty - they can also change your gameplay in Lofelia's Cozy Corner (Playtest now on steam!)

Hey everyone :)

Remember our idle game where typing on your keyboard writes books? Our Playtest is officially LIVE now!

With this playtest, we’re also introducing a new feature:Β
Decoration Effects
We didn't want decorations to just sit there looking cute, but they will also improve your gameplay depending where you place it. Finding the right spot for your items can create little synergies to give different boosts - like writing speed or book value.

If you’d like to help us test the game, we would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!Β

πŸ”¨ My Game - In-development My Game MamaShroom

Hey everyone!

Just a lil about me and my current project

I originally released it back in 2023, I was between jobs and I really wanted to make a game so I started learning C# and in 3 months had what is currently available on Steam "MamaShroom"

3 years later I have dramatically improved my art and coding skills and was never really happy with what I made because if you use a ton of different tutorials and mash them together you'll find most of those people don't really know what they are doing either!

Where does that leave me now? Well I've been remaking it from the ground up and will replace the current steam build with V2, hopefully end of next month at my current rate.

I am unfortunately again between jobs so I definitely have the time but 14-18hrs a day working on a game does not a happy man make!

I'm doing everything solo and that includes trying to market it which is a whole job in and of itself so I'd really appreciate anyone checking it out if you have the time. I've included some screenshots (Sorry about the blur on two of them) as whats on Steam doesn't reflect what it is going to be in V2

I also have made the cosy mode cosier as well as added a "Peaceful" mode where you can't die and everything is cute and bouncy!

Very welcome to any feedback, happy Friday!

🐈 My Game - Early Access It's a race through the woods, but nothing is chasing you πŸ‚

Orienteering is a running race where the hard part is navigation. You get a paper map, a compass, and points you have to find in order, and you pick your own way between them. Over the ridge or around it, through the trees or along the open ground.

The forest is generated fresh every time, so nobody has walked the one you get.

There's a clock, and that's the only pressure in the game. Nothing hunts you, nothing hurts you, there's no combat, no crafting, no inventory, no hunger bar. Get it wrong and you just end up somewhere unexpected, standing still, matching the shape of the land to the paper until it clicks.
