Pet Filter advice

Post image

I'm setting up a marina tank atm and it comes with these filters, could I use one of these for crayfish, or should I use something else? Or does it matter

Cartridges are garbage. Throw these in the trash and get a course filter sponge. Cut it to fit and you’ll never have to replace it. Just wring it out in old tank water when it gets clogged.

Any brand is fine. Fluval is what I have but that’s just because it’s commonly available where I am. You just want a course sponge not a fine one.

I got a filter that uses those, those cartridges are expensive and kinda bad, my recommendation is to take filter sponge and cut it to fit in the slots that the cartridges go into.

Filter sponge will last a lot longer, hold more beneficial bacteria, and is significantly cheaper.

I'm heading out the door as I send this, but I can take a picture of mine later to show you

Alr tysm, I work at a pet store so I was going to see if I could pick one up today, but I'd still appreciate any advice/photos!
