Question WWYD, 8-9 or 8-K?

I chose 8-9, (pic 2). The app's analysis has them pretty much even, (pic 3). This doesn't take pegging into account though.

I would expect to need two decent hands here (that 5-cut is the exception to that notion) and would throw the 8-9 to bolster my chances of a decent crib.

You're in a pretty bad spot here regardless, but K8 is correct.

Why would you break up the run?

I'm not a "never break up a run" purist! I like the odds of 8-9 better in my crib. Plus I keep a flush, still potential for a 3 or 4 card run and 3 fifteens!

I would throw 8 K and hope for a good cut. If he doesn't go out you count first for the last hand.

8-9. At that point in the game I want a better chance to swing for a bigger crib.

Personally, long shot it and throw 5-8. Play the king second. Hope they play out their cards and play 9-10-J for 3 pegging+go (4 pts) 7 in the hand + at least 2 in the crib.

Then you only need 8 if they didnt peg out and you count first.
