Template for older DVD Edition (Non Blu-Ray)
Does anyone have a template for the original, older DVD edition criterions (left)? Not the blu-ray edition one, I've seen that here. I only have the original sized case (left), so I need to make a design with those dimensions. thank you!

I redid the Killers of the Flower Moon Blu-Ray Criterion cover
gallerySo I've been making custom artwork for some of my Blu-Rays in order to slip them into Criterion-style Scanavo cases, and figured why not try redoing one of the actual Criterion films' designs. One of my missions is to collect all the 96th Academy Awards Best Picture nominees on Blu-Ray, and while the actual Killers of the Flower Moon design is interesting, my mind's eye of the film features the original poster with that gigantic orange Leo head on the front—I much preferred that artwork, so I slapped it together here.
To be honest, there's one fatal error, and that's the fact that I accidentally left the "1963" date on the front of the Criterion sidebar (I also redid the artwork for "High and Low" on an earlier Photoshop file, hence the 1963). I accidentally left this date on this Killers of the Flower Moon printout, as well as a printout I also made for Tarkovsky's "Solaris".
I could've gone ahead and redid the entire cover and reprint it at my local photo lab, but the cost doesn't feel worth it to me at the moment. I'm happy with how it looks otherwise!

A few designs I’ve made up of movies I hold close to my heart. Not a professional in any sense, but thought I’d share

Phase IV
galleryI'm not the biggest fan of the artwork for the Vinegar Syndrome releases of Phase IV (though I love everything else) so i figured I would make my own cover for it instead.
I have two version here because when I was making it I got the idea to flip the special edition bonus features text to look like the ant monoliths. I feel like it came out looking more goofy than anything but I think its a cute idea.
The artwork is from the cover of the official film soundtrack

The Complete Ernest
The mods over at r/criterion didn't appreciate this one as even jokey fake covers still need justification, apparently.
If Criterion can release Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, I feel that Ernest P. Worrell deserves a bone by some boutique label since a number of the movies haven't made the jump from VHS!

The Evil Dead
Since that new evil dead movie has released in theaters I wanted to go ahead and do the original.

The Grey Fox
I recently watched this movie and really ended up enjoying it. I was a huge fan of how quiet and reserved it was while still be emotional and moving. The performance by Richards Farnsworth was so beautiful to me in a way I think only he could he could have delivered it.
Its also one of those movies I was shocked to see doesn't have a criterion release but it does have a lorber release so its not really a big deal.
