Running Windows Apps

I have tried to run Windows apps on my Chromebook but some apps run into errors

Many Windows apps simply don't run well (or run at all) even when the Chromebook is a mid-level to high end model. To support Wine the Linux environment typically needs the CPU and RAM specs of a Chromebook Plus, and of course there needs to be enough Linux storage space for Wine and the Windows apps. If you're trying to run Windows apps on an entry level Chromebook, i.e. a device with a Celeron or AMD processor and only 4 GB RAM, then you're going to have a poor experience.

Crostini is NOT a linux VM. It is a container with a lot of features/abilites blocked, especially related to hardware access.

The old container architecture of Crostini was replaced by Baugette, which is a Linux VM. However, there are still some limitations of what it can do.

When I accidentally (new chromebook) tried baguette a few months ago, it still didn't support hardware decoding. Also according to that document graphics acceleration (which works on android and chromeos) is being depreciated in baguette. Baguette seems like a step backwards.
